^Haha. It needs to be to scale though. Soleil is barely shin high on that thing. Seriously. 82m versus 600m.

I'm thinking more put some arms on the big guy and have him roasting Soleil on a spit between two of the columns.

look at the floorplans!!
Reminds me of this monstrosity I found last week. Check out the row of houses and where they are situated as well. This weird little side street between the river and Bowness Rd.

Clockzilla is eternal! Though it might be outmatched against such a giant foe...

Maybe this is Vancouver's own Clockzilla Mini-Me? I see two eyes and a gaping maw.

This was requested by O a few days ago after I posted this photo to FB.

The Avatamsaka Monastery in downtown Calgary.

Photocredit: me

It originally was a MEC store and about a decade ago they converted the first few floors. However, the Buddhist association didn't have the funds to do the rest. So I guess they just eventually decided to go with what funds they had and do a stucco job of it. It sits on a very prominent site, visible from the Bow River Pathway and next to a bridge between downtown and the ever-popular Kensington area.

Making it worse, they decided to go with this ghastly combination of colours.

The original proposal:

Thank you Boris! That thing derserves a spot among the pantheon of monsters!

Was it really a MEC before? I can't ever remember it not being the monastery. Maybe it was two decades ago?

Awesome! Of course Clockzilla wins. He has many more floors of Depends. And plus, a personal visit from Gilles Duceppe!
Looks like Leonardozilla put up a good fight.

I want to see Clockzilla wipe the floor with Kevin O'Leering.

My god, I lived around the corner from this place back in the early 90s....I used to get my coffee at the cafe that was on the main floor...."Big News Cafe" I believe it was called. Right where the Murchie's now exists.

Awesome. We need a best Clockzilla image poll. It needs to be multiple choice though because there are just way too many classics.
