Somebody just got in to real big trouble trying to take fancy Toronto skyline shots from a crane.

That's why I just stay on the ground.

I personally don't have any issue with multiple skyline pictures from Tosin or anyone else.

Do I think it gets monotonous? Yes, sometimes this thread is like that.

But it's a photo thread, so if I don't like it I can just stay away.

Post away people!

Those are some of the best Peg shots I've seen on here.

Yeah Winnipeg is really starting to get into shape. Just like Halifax, I used to think these two skylines were quite uninteresting, not anymore. Also, Winnipeg is getting some nice architecture going, and not simply bland Vancouver or TO simulacra, but some honest looking construction.

What construction? I see only a handful of cranes and so far nothing any different from what Montreal, Toronto, or Vancouver are doing.

Montreal and Toronto have also undergone a massive transformation in recent years.

insert foot into mouth ... mmmmm

The only thing honest is how shockingly bad the two tallest proposals are in their attempt to tack on some architectural flair to their generic form. True North Square isn't bad but, it's as generic Vancouver as they come. Urban Capital's foray into the Winnipeg skyline (forget the name) is the decent generic half of Toronto. Skycity is the evil side.

Everytime I see pictures of Winnipeg I think to myslef "SO. MUCH. POTENTIAL"
I like the built form, some of their older buildings, the location, the river, the bridge and all.

It just sucks that there are so many vacant and open lots around the downtown and that there doesn't seem to be many new (more modern) tall towers built in the core to add to the density.

I wish Winnipeg would experience a little growth spur and mini construction boom.

yeah, the most recent proposals/UC projects are probably not going to win any awards. Most of us are just happy to see more empty parking lots being filled and will take what we can get at this point.

On the downtown horizon we have:

True North Square (28 fl/17 fl) (U/C) (possible hotel coming after)

source

courtesy of Biff

D Condo (24 fl) U/C

source

courtesy of EndoftheBeginning

Sky City (45 fl) (I'm doubtful this will go ahead)

source

360 Main (40 f)(I'm confident this is going ahead)(will be new tallest, provided Sky City is a no go)

source

And we recently saw Glass House, Heritage Landing and Alt go up as new high rises in recent years. So nothing exceptional but I think we're just happy to see some more activity given the stagnant decade(s) before this

Wow, I posted True North Square on the Ottawa forum as something I would like to see in our CBD. Also kind of like D Condo. I guess we have low standards here in the OT.

The Manitoba legislature building is epic (also a big fan of the BC equivalent). I want to blow up the Ontario legislature, not just for its shitty inhabitants but the gross lopsided architecture. Heck, even the Parliament buildings in Ottawa need to be burned down, the original design was rather nice, but that tall clocktower after the last fire looks so silly.

Have any of you felt alienated by our civilization lately? Seen any cool ISIS videos on YouTube? I'd be happy to sponsor the bomb vests, just blow up both these architectural monstrosities...pretty please!!

I genuinely can't tell if this is your usual trolling or a serious statement.

Either way this needed to be screenshotted.

Don't pull this "its just a joke" bullshit. Even if you know it isn't serious, it's not very funny. we're not being uptight if you're the one making a shitty joke with no substance and senseless subject matter.

What the heck are you so offended by, I can't be the only one who thinks our Parliament building and Provincial legislature look awful compared to other ones. I didn't realize the people on here were so sensitive that merely using the word ISIS or bomb vest would "trigger" you into thinking I'm posting a serious elaborate plot on a bloody skyscraper forum (LOL!). If you knew anything about my posting history you'd realize I'm the most anti-ISIS infidel there could be, I still prefer Trump to Hillary for Christ's sake.

Anyway, if you don't find something funny or ironic then ignore it, instead of pushing the whole language police gestapo crap. Thinking it was serious, is just stupid, like REALLY stupid. Period.

I disagree . The asymmetry works well with the Ontario Legislature.

The rest is extreme insensitive and very ignorant to why anyone would blow themselves up. They are as much victims too. You went too far.

It's ok I recognize my Punctuation is wrong/ off, & many of my post are hard to read @ times.
I think maybe I should just post less, or shorter sentences in general & just come back when I improve on that.

Overall I agree with everything else u said in ur post.

Yup ur right I sure did! But then again I got help from people like u constantly being on my Butt/ Ass to change, & so I did.
But yes literacy is a problem for me. (Which is ironic really since I love to write & even stories @ that).
