I hope so too.
They told us about the last delay about 3 months out.... we should hear soon if there's another delay

For the past few weeks they have been working on the streetscape and what is striking me odd is how they seem to be shrinking Beresford Street just before the intersection. There is no way that they can fit in any street parking there and I find it poor planning that they didn't use the opportunity to add in a second right-turn lane, as lineups on Beresford are only getting longer. I don't see the intersection of Beresford and Willingdon working very well in the future...

Perhaps they are expecting people to just turn from Maywood . The city should maybe at least consider restricting traffic to a 'right turn only' onto Wilingdon from Beresford, as it's likely going to further add to the congestion problems. In addition, given the close proximity of the Central Blvd intersection, left turns from Beresford onto Willingdon or even going straight through is just going to be more accidents waiting to happen especially when visibility is heavily restricted during periods of heavy traffic.

For me, since I live and work in neighbourhood, I tend to use Maywood/Imperial to enter/exit the block during peak hours.

The street is SUPER narrow now. It's like 1 lane +1 curb for parking now on the modello side
Don't know how congested things will be, but when I went to view the inspection, it was very busy and hard for me to turn into bereford st and park in the designated curb parking.

Yeah, it is very narrow now and I don't know what they were thinking. I actually drive to Maywood Street quite often nowadays to make the turn rather than use Beresford Street.

I work in the area. I used to take Beresford, but no longer do. It is awful at the best of times, and think it is worse bow because of how narrow it is. Now I take Maywood or Imperial.

And here's how they used the space they took out from the roadway. Makes. No. Sense.

I know when I talked to the Burnaby guy a little while back he mentioned that developers keep asking to put lights in at Willingdon and Beresford, despite there being lights at Central. There's no way they'd put two sets of lights that close together.

Years ago when planning for the BC Parkway, there was talk about putting some kind of barrier on Willingdon so Beresford becomes right in / right out. I suspect that's what's going to happen. Central has always been the busier street, with mall access and connecting streets to Kingsway - Beresford has always been a local street and the plans look like they want to keep it that way.

Yeah, but thousands of new tower apartments along Beresford Street are going to mean also hundreds of more cars on it. There is going to be a constant line-up of cars trying to turn on Willingdon, as there almost already is.

If they have 2 sets of lights it would be no different than on 41st or 49th at West Blvd and East Blvd in Kerrisdale - also service roads parallel to an old interurban RoW.

Are there are also 2 sets of lights on Joyce either side of the old RoW at the station?

Anyone here actually buy into the building?

I'm having issue where they caused more damages while fixing things from the initial deficiency walk through and are asking me to wait til after possession to get the new damages looked at.

Is this normal?

This my first condo so I'm worry about repairs after possession

It's normal unfortunately. Only advice I can offer is keep after it relentlessly and do it via email so you have a record of it. Not going to accuse them of anything but it's not abnormal for developers to "forget" about things if not pestered. But yes lots of repairs are completed after occupancy. There will be some items you might only discover after some time in the unit, so don't worry too much about that aspect of things.

That's disheartening.
It was horrible scratched on a marble floor....

I guess I'll have to fight this hard.

Thanks for the info!

People started moving in this past weekend. Did our forumers already occupy their new apartments?

Title of this thread should be updated to 'Completed'.

BOFFO does an amazing job.

Our sister co marketed The Smithe - even at $1300/ft down and 1,000ft it's 90% sold by a few weeks in April 17. Beautiful finishings and workmanship.

All moved-in now, but waiting for Boffo to come in and fix up all the issues, which are mostly finishing/painting issues. So far my unit doesn't have the bigger issues that I have heard other owners have (i.e. improperly installed beverage fridge leading to leaks/improper installation of AC/heating sensors).

The design of the building/unit is great but they definitely rushed to finish the job.
