The CFL is not dying. The NLL is a real league even if your Rush creasemen serve you pancakes at the local Flapjacks Diner. Saskatchewan pro sports are better than Toronto pro sports.

Agreed. I love to hate the Riders but even I will concede that the game day atmosphere in Regina is best in the country. I've been to Jays, Raptors and Leafs games in Toronto and they simply cannot match it... perhaps in the playoffs they might be roughly in the same ballpark, but that's about it.

You're completely going off the rails. I'm not debating where I would rather be a sports fan. Toronto obviously has lots of options of course, I'm simply calling out those who have baseless claims that NFL is coming to Toronto. I stated that there is no owner willing to fork over $2 billion, spend $2 billion on a stadium, there was just 2 teams that relocated to cities not named Toronto (one of them which went back to a city that has already failed twice). No one was willing to outbid Pegula who recently bought the bills, terrible support for the Bills in Toronto games (and I don't want hear any BS excuse, cause Montreal did just fine supporting the Jays when they played exhibition games in Mtl). the facts are everywhere around us, but yet we continually hear that's its fact that TO is getting the NFL.

I'm from Alberta, not Saskatchewan, and while there are not nearly close the amount of professional options here compared to TO, it doesn't phase me one bit. I'm not a fan of NBA, only MLB in playoffs, when it is playoff time I chear for underdogs (excluding the Jays). I won't even bother to discuss TfC or soccer in general (are they expected to make playoffs. I seen on Sports center their record is 1-1-4... FOUR TIES IN 6 games??? Sounds exciting). Hockey is huge here of course, but coming across tickets can be difficult.

The alternative options to pro sports in Calgary is heading to the mountains 45 minutes west of the city. World class mountain biking, hiking white water rafting and world class skiing is an hour away. All at a fraction of the price one would pay to watch live pro sports in Toronto.

To get back on track in this forum, bottom line, I don't see a private investor forking over $2 billion for a 60-70k seat NFL stadium , especially with all the facts I listed previously.

How much would it actually cost in Canadian dollars, especially with the hot housing market I see there? Land must be a huge factor when trying to put a price on the stadium...

Real estate joke... it will be ten private investors who pool their profits together after selling their semi-detached homes in Etobicoke.

Alberta is a beautiful land. Spent every summer in Crowsnest Pass doing the kinds of things you mentioned as a kid. You're lucky to live there. You may hold zero interest for Toronto FC but it's a thing here. For me, hockey holds very little interest and I find the game boring. I respect it and get involved with the playoffs (well, when the Leafs are in them). It's also a thing here. To each their own. Nothing excites me more than soccer. Greatest game on the planet.

We have three different billion dollar franchises here according to Forbes. The Raptors ascent past the Leafs is quite amazing. Forbes has valued Toronto FC at $245 million in 2016. Toronto FC paid an expansion fee of $10 million. In a decade, that is massive growth. One soccer club worth more than the ENTIRE CFL. In 10 short years. I don't have the answers you want. I'm having fun on a forum and debating. What I see is money and value in Toronto sports. Look at those numbers. An NFL team in this city would trump them all. Money, making money, always wins. Very true. You can't do anything outdoorsy without mountains including a few of those you listed.

-Toronto Rock have won multiple times including in 2011.

-Toronto Rush has also won a Championship in 2013.

And if you're going to talk smack about TFC's league record, remember the season is young, last year they started off with a worse record and ended up at the finals. MLS teams play around 40 games a year, not including playoffs, Canadian Championship or CONCACAF Champions League games.

MLSE has money, if they get a shot at an NFL franchise, don't doubt for a minute they'll drop down serious cash. Anything can happen in the future, the sense of fear in CFL land is pulpable so clearly there's some truth to it in your eyes too, but keep fronting like you're not worried

And as far as all the big talk about the atmosphere at the Snot Riders, here's the atmosphere at a TFC game on a cold rainy winters day. The stadium literally shakes like an earthquake every time there's a goal, nonstop singing, stomping, chanting and action, I'd like to see someone post a Riders game where they top this:

No. It's more the vanity of billionaire with more money than they know what to do with to pay a billion for a sports team than a sound investment. That's where Toronto falls short. We don't have the families that can put forth a bid for an expansion NFL team and there's no bloody way the NFL would approve a bid from a corporate owner like MLSE. Otherwise, a team would probably be here already. That's right . It's more the bidding team keeping the NFL out of Toronto than the city and its sports culture.

I don't follow those other sports, so no idea about them, but in TFC's case, they hold parades after every achievement. Usually held an hour before the next game, on the way to the stadium, with flares, flags, singing and the whole works.

I didn't say you can't... you definitely can, pretty much anywhere with hills and water, but thats why I stated "world class". Maybe I'm wrong but I don't think there is any world class skiing or mountain biking out that way.
