Here is the website for spring cleanup program.
http://winnipeg.ca/PublicWorks/streets/streetCleaning/springCleanUp.stm

This one outlines what is considered excessive sand. — if you ask me. They leave sand allover the boulevards, then the boulevard 'mounds' trapping water on the sidewalk side, then it gets back into your yard. Now you have no way to drain your property. That's —. Again on Munroe (clearly I live there) sidewalks are lakes in the spring.

I'm just telling you the reason. I don't make the decisions.

Maybe I'm the only one who's very grateful and excited for this extremely mild winter and early spring... To each their own.

When I was younger, sure, I'd have been happy. Now it worries me because it's a clear sign of climate change. Makes me wonder how hot things will get.

Winters today aren't as cold as when I was a kid.

Depending on what shift I work, I'm down Munroe around once a day from Panet to Watt and it sure had to tell if boulevards are sand or mud now. Kimberly is a little better but not much.

Well they brooms pretty much stripped the grass right off the boulevard on the south side.

They finished the north side last night and actually did a decent job. Looks like they even swept the sidewalk. Less grass was removed as well. Although they did leave behind the strips of sod removed by the snow plows.

they were out this morning around 10:30 spraying water on the sidewalks north of Bessant and following up with a tractor broom unit.

On Panet by Rona store they were spraying everything as they passed, didn't even turn the flow off where the bus shelters were. At least the windows are sort of clean on the shelter now.

Don't know what it is this year or if the ground is especially soft this year but yeah the city crew cleaning boulevards are making a friggin mess, they cleaned the boulevard in front of a park I walk by and left deep rutted tire tracks on the boulevard and tore chunks of the sod right out everywhere. Do city workers have any supervision?

Most of Manitoba is saturated with water - so the ground is spongy and clumpy.

Ya the grounds soft. If so, don't make a mess of it! It's hit and miss with those workers. Thee was an article online this weekend about snow clearing crews and them destroying the roads. There is some accountability, but not much really.

On the topic of Munroe, also school zones. Residents are wanting to change Munroe between Gateway and Henderson from a Priority 1 street to something less. They want a school zone installed between Watt and Brazier.

Also, the City is looking at removing the school zone on Panet between Munroe and Concordia. As it's stupid at that location.

All that will do is move a money making location from one area to another area.

Another stupid location in EK is along Watt St from Trent to Munroe. What I find interesting is the zone ends just before Munroe even though Polson school is on the corner.

I find a lot of inconsistencies with school zones all over the place. Take the school on Grey just south of Munroe. Grey is clearly signed to the 30mkh speeds, etc. But all of the side streets running east-west off Grey in the school zone are not signed for speed. Only that it is a school zone. Even though a stop sign is approaching, you can travel at 50kmn in the school zone. But the speed is supposed to be 30kmh. That to me puts the entire school zone in question as it leaves the actual speed in question. Inconsistencies. Try telling that to the judge.

Have to say I agree. Never should have been one there.

We've just left Whiteshell Provincial Park and will head through the Sandilands Provincial Forest. We'll cross the Pinegrove Rest Area and also the "Longitudinal Centre of Canada".

Yup, newly twinned road with a religious quackery school where all those being indoctrinated are bused anyway. Have yet to see a student walk from that school, shows how overboard the city went with posted/money making school zones!

Drive down St. Mary's, plenty of schools on the route no school zone money traps!

Why is Concordia from Panet to Peguis only 50 KMPH when there are no homes along the route and only access point onto and off Lag., no one drives 50 on that road (nor should they have to) but radar traps are set up once in awhile to collect $. That stretch should be 60!

There was suppose to be a review by the Highway Traffic Board of traffic speeds in Winnipeg a few years ago but it was shut down they the NDP.

I wonder if they feared that the board among other things, would say the Provencher Blvd should be upgraded to 60 KPH to match the other major 3 lane divided routes (Henderson, north Main, Pebmina etc).

Speaking of Henderson and Main:

Does anyone know why NB Main allows parking while NB Henderson does not allow parking during rush hour?

The stretch of Main around Leila always seems to bottleneck. Always seems to be just one parked vehicle tying everything up.
