Closing date for the first building pushed to September 2018. Construction to start in April 2017.

Cirque du Soleil will be installing their big top on the Zibi site for the summer, are we sure the work going on there is for the development, or is it prep work for the Circus? Because they need a lot of space for the big top and all the trailers/living/food quarters for the circus employees...

It's a very big site. If you were to place it over downtown Ottawa, it would roughly cover Bank to Elgin, and Wellington to Albert.

I was under the impression Cirque du Soleil was planning on staging the show inside one of the heritage industrial buildings, not erecting a tent.

100% sure its a big top tent, based on the info I read and based on the seating scheme I saw when I checked ticket availabilities recently.

I guess they are getting ready for Cirque du Soleil this August.
Wonder what's the plan with those power lines that run right in front of their future condos. I believe they supply power to Kruger plant. Are they going to wait until it shuts down 10 years from now or bury them somehow?

I went by the Rue Laval entrance the other day and they paved it like a real street with bike lanes, crosswalks, etc. Looked weird considering there is not much inside yet.

I was wondering about the hydro lines too. It'll be interesting to see what they do with them. Leaving them, to me, seems like a terrible option, so there's gotta be some plan in the works.

I'm excited about the Laval Street extension. Some blocks of Laval are already quite lively. This has "main street" potential.

The landscaping improvements are approaching completion at the power dam site as well. I noticed the structural platform is up for the 'viewing area' near the bridge, and nice streetlights outline the public area on top of the dam and near the stone buildings. I'll try to take a pic next time.
