If every new major project is "the most anticipated master-plan community in Burnaby/Vancouver" then is any project really the "most anticipated"?

Seems like an over-used tag-line.

To wit : If everyone is "special" then really no one is actually special (since "special" becomes average) and then everyone is really average, no?

At least they didn't call them luxury condos. Everything is luxury now, even though new condo quality standards are shameful.

Probably because it is.....

It's an ubiquitous enough tag-line for these marketing people that you'd think that error or typo (if it's that) would have been picked up by now if it's been proliferating the way it is.

More likely someone saw it being used on some other project's ad material and just thought it would sound great on their own marketing campaign as well, and add the desired air of grandiosity, without actually thinking whether it fits or not.

With all due respect to the local denizens, it's Gilmore; it's not like they're master-planning Century city.

Anyone else notice that the subsequent towers (apart from the blockier commercial office towers) look to be rendered-in at much shorter heights than the first 3 towers?

"Most anticipated" can mean just that for that particular point in time, until the next best thing comes along.

Thanks for the new rendering, but tallest of the towers does not look like 200 meters to me. Normally the exaggerate towers in renderings, but here I think they are under-representing it.

Right now there's at least about 4 concurrent "most anticipated" master planned communities in that tract of suburb between Gilmore station and Holdom, in various stages of execution.

Gilmore, of course, Amazing Brentwood, Solo, Concord Brentwood...
...and we could even throw in Lumina since that's a 4 tower project around/near a park*.

And aside from being logical non-starter that you'd have that many "most's", I'd be willing to bet that each of them have marketed themselves that way at some stage of another during their various proposal/marketing stages.

And since none of them are currently complete, they could all theoritically still claim to be the "most anticipated" (even though, as I stated,.... not logically possible).

*technically speaking, I'd only classify Gilmore, Amazing Brentwood and Condord Brentwood as being the actual true 'master-planned' communities since they're the ones that have considerably penetration into the surrounding urban plan beyond just their lots. But by a broader definition they'd all qualify, I suppose.

Metro Vancouver is finally getting a new tallest building. The flagship tower of Gilmore Place will be over 700ft. From the New Home and Condo Guide:

Holy. That's tallest by a pretty good margin. If Brentwood can support a 700 footer, imagine what DT Vancouver would have sans height restrictions. Probly have a couple 1000 footers by now.

I hope they mean base of the building to top of the tower is over 700 feet.

Not from sea level to the top of the tower (a trick used on a few towers in the past).

Also, why not just release the exact height?? If it is a true 700 footer (hate using feet for buildings, means nothing to me) we are looking at over 213 meters! (that means something to me, because I am not American).
