Only two routes currently travel past Lincoln Fields Station (the 16 and 85). I strongly suspect that after Stage 2, the 16 will be re-routed along Richmond as New Orchard will be a better LRT transfer point (the detour to Carling is only really necessary to create a transfer point to the Transitway). It could then travel up Woodroffe up to Saville Row (it could loop through the front of Carlingwood, but I think giving it access from the back is better overall).
As for the 85, they will be installing a full crosswalk (with a traffic light) on Carling at the pedestrian entrance, so it would be possible to have the 85 travel straight on Carling and not enter the station even though the station isn't under Carling. Not quite as convenient, but still doable.

The next thing we will hear is that Carling east and west of Lincoln Fields will be different routes requiring a transfer.

This will eventually happen once they build the Carling LRT line as it will terminate at Lincoln Fields. I am curious if they have put any design consideration into the station for this or if the whole thing will have to be redesigned.
