The show at Mosaic Stadium wind tunnel will be using the south end zone configuration. There are 3 concert configurations for the Mosaic stadium wind tunnel

Bryan Adams, Sarah McLaughlin, Barenake ladies, and a few other other bands to open up the stadium on May 27. Great for Canada's 150th. Will be bringing my kids!

The more concerts and events that use this facility will sure put it on the map.

Lol. Are they giving these tickets away with orders of Pizza Pizza? They expect more than a few thousand to show up for this?

Yeah, that's not an inspiring choice of performers, especially for anyone under 40.

What are you guys talking about? There should be a good showing at New Mosaic for an all-day Canadian rock/pop festival. Adams just did an arena tour last year or the year before. Mclachlan on her own could probably draw 4-5000. the Ladies probably 2-3,000.

If they keep ticket prices reasonable (not always a sure thing) then I think it is possible to draw 12 - 20,000. Doubt it would be a sellout but they aren't shooting for that anyways. Maybe they would need one more nostalgia act from the 90s/early 2000s? Our Lady Peace perhaps?

I disagree. Not a huge Adams fan but you won't find too many bigger international Canadian music stars to headline a Canada 150 Celebration. Tie into that cheap tickets for those who can't afford expensive ones for a bigger touring show. Tie into that a beautiful late spring evening, good music, Canada 150, beer, fireworks, brand new stadium, Snowbirds flyover, etc & I see this as being a big draw, I know I'll be bringing my family.

IMO the more events at this facility the better.

Evraz Place will have there greasy dirty lil fingers in there. Hopefully they dont overkill in prices. My thinking is that its part of Canada 150 celebrations so I am sure the feds will be kicking in some money,so hopefully that keeps the tickets at a reasonable price. So if the prices are at a respectable price they will sell out the 33,0000 tickets

I posted this in the general thread, but probably should've posted here. The Centennial Fountain of the west side is boxed in and presumably going through restoration. Does anyone have a timeline on when that work is set to be completed?

I would think the whole Centennial park project will be finished by early June at the latest so it can be used for pre-game festivities.

As expected. Here is the official announcement.

Quote:
Bryan Adams will headline the first concert at new Mosaic Stadium on May 27 with Johnny Reid and Our Lady Peace to open for the Canadian rock legend.

The concert is to be held as the second test event for the new stadium and would see the facility filled to approximately 75 per cent of its 33,000-person capacity. Mayor Michael Fougere said 25,000 tickets will be sold with seats on the field, in the stands and second level.

Tickets range from $55-$100 and go on sale through Ticketmaster on April 8 at 10 a.m.

I believe the name is Confederation Park.

I wonder if the fence will be ready? I heard it is more like a low barrier to comply with liquor laws, than a fence.

Also I heard they are spending a stupid amount of money on the fountain restoration.

It'll be a great show.

It's funny reading some of the negative comments regarding the concert, best advice to those folks is to stay home.

The fountain will be unlike anything we've seen in Regina, that's for sure.

Also regarding the park. Best part is there are gonna be post game festivities as well.

It appears there will be a lot of demand from older women. They tend to drag their partners along.

I would enjoy seeing Our Lady Peace, but I don't think I'll pay $55+ to see them as an opening act (since I wouldn't want to stay for the rest). I'm sure there will be some demand, though I don't think the concert alone can fill $25,000 tickets—if it sells out it will be primarily due to the novelty of the new stadium, I think.
