It may be possible to partially occupy this while the upper portions continue work.
As long as the various critical systems to operate the building are installed where it does not have to rely on equipment at the rooftop level (plus the roof could be reserved for the residential equipments anyway)
There are other areas like a third floor mechanical and some rooms in the main and P1 that can have the various equipment installed to run the office portion of the tower as the complex floorplates for the units begin to get formed.
I think this is what was done for the Trump tower in Chicago where the hotel was already open yet the bldg hadn't even topped out.

It's done all the time in large mixed use tower. Different ownerships want as few easements as possible.

Of course Telus has a lot to say on the delivery date. There are always financial repercussion in the contract for a late delivery. Telus aren't some lowly condo pre-purchasers.

probably one of the next floor plates. The twist will be pretty subtle at first, so we not even notice it until it's a few floors up.

Now we shall see the floor plate change occur on this next set of forms, but it will be ever so slight.

You know I just realized, if the cladding color on the tower would follow a 223m long gradient transition from Black to white as it makes its way to the top, that would be so epic..

It's hard to tell for certain but from this angle it looks like the floor plate is starting to change.

I think you're correct. If you zoom into the full-sized image and look at the highest level visible without forms, you see a notch along the right-hand edge of the concrete bringing it in a few inches.

It looks like they've begun peeling a protective material from the glass? Glass looks much, much better without it.

I actually disagree. I kind of enjoyed the dark blue tinge that the protective material gave the glass. I felt it contrasted nicely with the black. With the protective material off I think the clear glass gets a bit lost with the black... but that's just me. Either way, this thing's going to look great on the skyline and I think switching to black cladding from the original white was a good move as it'll really make it stand-out.
