Could they have not used the same glass as the rest of the tower for the crown? Would have given it a cleaner, uniform look and an illusion of a taller tower

I think half the reason people come to this thread or this site is only so they can complain about something.

My memory is different than yours. Most were very dismissive of the renderings. Most found them incredibly boring. The appreciation for simple and elegant came later. The crown doesn't compliment that.
Your memory is always different than everyone else. Just sayin.

I rarely like crowns that are different from the rest of the building. Almost always prefer a uniform look
