Finally! I wonder what the price points and floorplans will be like. I hope none of what's rendered will be cheap spandrel. Looks pretty sweet though!

I wish developers would include more than 1 image when making a site like that...

This is the site.

The overall density looks to be the same with a lower unit count, 644 units instead of 820. Only 136 one bedrooms. 432 two beds, 76 three beds (vs. 30 three beds in the original Larco proposal). The full report is in the October 3rd Land Use and Planning Committee package at https://www.newwestcity.ca/committees/land-use-planning-committee. Curious to hear people's first reactions.

Bosa's renderings look to be slightly taller? For the tallest tower, including the crown, I counted 57 - 60 storeys?

Really looking forward to this one. New West and the Pier area has a really good energy right now and is quite busy on nice days. This will fit in great down there - Fill in the missing gap between the Market and Westminster Pier Park, and look great on the skyline. Some pics from last weekend (Mar 19):

A photo of the open house was posted on Twitter a number of days ago. I guess all will be revealed on March 30th. I like the updated render:

Pricing for these towers will be very interesting. One would have to guess much higher than other developments in the area given the location, height, and architecture (not to mention the engineering complexity). Will the market be receptive of higher end Brentwood or Metrotown level pricing? The riverfront location attached to a large park blows away anything I've seen in the Burnaby town centres (personal opinion but honestly, show me otherwise!). However you're getting further out from Downtown Vancouver and New West may still have some lingering reputation issues. If Bosa pulls off a successful development here it will set a new benchmark for the area that will be tough to match.

It's just a teaser, need to boost the anticipation.

The new design they are hinting at looks pretty interesting, this could end up being a real stunner.

Construction on that site won't be starting until Spring 2018, so I don't know why it says "coming 2017"...

Keep them coming, New West.

Wonder if there will be public amenities and retail space at the podium(s).
A row of restaurants, bars and shops would be nice along the stretch of Fraser River.

Exactly. So what if Onni did agree to the original City demand? Things change, and people do take back things they originally agree to. The City should just compromise. I don't get the stubborn posturing: it benefits no one.

Maybe on the playground, but that's not really how things work in the real world...

Just a little life tip, don't share this logic with your bank when you're looking for a mortgage, unless you want to be living out of a box.

We've already seen more images than that on here - rickvug posted more.

Those are old though, this latest image by Bosa seems to show a more refined design than the massing models shown before.

This is the site.

I suspect that the glass areas will be mix of glass enclosing living areas and glass enclosing balconies extending to clear fins at the top.
- like on the Charleson but with curved edges - see the glass on the right edge below.

That's what I was thinking too. The renders in the proposal submitted to the city looked a bit different from this new one, most notably at the base of the towers.

Okay, just to clear things up, by new rendering is everyone referring to the hand drawn one?

Okay, thanks!. That makes me happy, as it does have a more refined and elegant look than the previous ones. Excited to see more renders in the future.

I don't think it really matters that New West is (marginally) further from downtown than Brentwood or Metrotown.

New West is it's own Downtown with historic charm, new hipster-esq coffee shops/eateries popping up along Columbia. Everything from Columbia to the riverfront has a good feel right now.

If you haven't been down lately, should check it out. Discover Metro Van's other waterfront.

Metrotown and Brentwood don't have much on New West (Other than being 15mins closer to Downtown and better shopping). I'd rather be at the quay waterfront park than in Metrotown Mall anyday though.
