One wall is made to look like a mosque with the turrets. The other sides all look like a generic office building.
And check out that beautiful dead grass waste of space in what I assume is a ROW for Barlow Trail. Note the complete lack of a sidewalk. City planning at its finest.
The cathouse. A strip club with fake ruins for no reason. I can't remember what this used to be but I think it's a holdover from the former business. Also in Calgary's beautiful NE.
Not too much further from there I found another interesting nugget. The Four Points Sheraton looks like it's roof has pools of blood on it. Either that or there's some Ghostbusters 2 shit going on!
Just noticed (by pure happenstance -- my eye just caught his username as the latest post in a thread in a section of the forum I never visit) that Chad is back. Will MolsonEx follow?

Ugly is the least of it. One really wants to know more. Am I correct in thinking that the inscription over the archway on the side means "tempation to sin"?
The building on the right is worst. A shitty 80s reno on what probably was a pretty building.
That one is definitely older with a reno, but there's also somewhat similar looking shitty 1940s/50s infills scattered throughout the old city. It's hard to find an authoritative source, but I believe most of them were built after the city assessed and condemned "unfit dwellings".
Every city has hoarders. At least this one likes to display it nicely. There's a farm house just outside the city I should try and grab a picture of one of these days. It has hundreds of stuffed animals hung from a tree in the yard. It looks straight out of a horror movie. I imagine there's one for every child who wandered onto the property never to be seen again...
