Within about a 200m radius of my office building and associated residential / retail complex there are 3 Starbucks. It's a bit ridiculous. Luckily there are also 3 good independent coffee places... and 2 Tim Horton's.
Check out the beautiful craftsmanship at the top of that arch. Not sure if it will have some kind of 'moulding' placed on top to continue the curve or not. To say nothing of that spandrel and glass.
Whoa that whole building is awful. Nothing says art deco revival like cheap spandrel!
Yep! Thankfully this view is harder to see as you have to be directly in front of it. The crown is not bad and does add variety from a skyline perspective. Overall it still seems like Lacaille has a colour blind accountant picking their glass though.
The arch is not finished. The whole building is a joke though. Variety in regards to crap Deco inspired or structural expressionist architecture is highly overrated on SSP.

That's so sweet! kwoldtimer is still reading us, and can't log on from where he is (for some reason), so he went and instructed a friend or a relative to open up a SSP account just to reassure us that he's okay...
Y'know, you didn't have to go to such lengths, Acajack is generally reliable enough that when he said he recalled you mentioned you'd be away "under the sun" for a few months (I had zero recollection of that), I took his word for it.

It's always been a strange "worry" of mine that we would never truly know what happened to a user if they suddenly vanished. Say, freeweed has been dead-to-us since 2015, what if he died in a car crash in '15? People come and go, but when someone vanishes like that, you can never know what's behind it. (Unless, like esquire, they have stated in their will "my heirs must log on to SSP using this username and password, and inform the guys over there that I passed".)

Tonight, passed by the Erin's Pub exterior. Aluminum siding and a single porthole window (with a visible interior wall down the middle of it) right in the middle of downtown.
Disappoints me every time. Also... "Shop Local" in a Royal Doulton shop.

It's not just you. It's every city in Canada that has these blemishes. In many cases it's far worse. Like the brutal modern courthouse in Old Montreal almost kitty corner from Place Jacques-Cartier. Or the brutalist bunker that houses the Quebec Premier's office, right on Grande-Allée and just before the gates.
