I wonder if this new "midtown" moniker will end up being adopted by the city's (mostly french-speaking) population.

Will "j'habite le midtown"? ever be a thing?

I gotta say, I haven't been able to ever see a good angle of Mississauga's "skyline" until today. Today I went out, and did some lookin around. Pretty much, I found a park and did a few things and found a fair place to see Mississauga's skyline. This photo only includes the area excluding the Absolute towers (tallest in city by not much):

Very nice... I love the density, but there need to be a few taller towers standing out from the pack... the Halifax skyline is starting to be rather table-top-ish.

It will likely become even more of a table top. Halifax has very restrictive height limits due to Citadel Hill. Buildings that block the view of the harbour from the hill are deemed too tall and not allowed. The downtown won't get any taller than it is now unless that regulation is changed. Halifax will develop much like Montreal. It will get denser and more expansive. It won't get taller.
