I thought that they were building an elevated walkway between Chinook station and Chinook Mall, and there was a bunch of activity before Xmas but everything has gone desd now. When is it supposed to be complete? Right now it is quite a pain to navigated through all the car traffic...

The walkway isn't the entire way from Chinook Station, it's from the southeast corner of Macleod Trail at 61st, over the road and to the food court at Chinook Centre. Nowhere near the station.

And it is very much under construction. Pillars on each side of McLeod Trail are under construction and the bridge itself looks to be under construction on the east side of McLeod.

I believe they'll be closing Macleod Trail to lift the bridge structure into place within the next week or two....

It's too bad there wasn't the financial means to bury 7th avenue at the same time the green line gets started on construction. Numbers have been thrown about in the past and I think it would be at least a billion to do it.

Time for the city to grab a brain and put this baby underground. There have been way too many accidents over the years.

What happened to the smart card system?

It's amazing this city doesn't have a smart card for transit when pretty much every other city big and small in the world has had this for years and in some cases decades

No surprise given the economy but ridership and revenue took a pretty good hit last year.
