Definitely some more panelling going in on the inside of the crown - south side right now. Looks like the same silver stuff like on the lobby levels.

Curious as to why they painted the sub-structure prior to covering it.

Any chance those panels aren't silver like at ground level, but a frosted panel with LEDs integrated inside?

From what I heard it was to weatherproof it, since it is more exposed to the elements.

Looking at the detailed pics at src, the new material appears to be metal or plastic, I was hoping they would be some sort of semi-transparent glass.

Lipstick on a pig, change the glass and we could have a winner.

As a general comment, I recall over the last good number of years people wanting clear transparent glass, and when buildings came up where glass looked more reflective in reality than in the rendering, there was predictable dismay. On this building, in the crown element (where we have not yet seen the lighting component) the amount of negativity towards this glass being transparent and looking like the rendering has been quite off the scale. Much more so than when the Bow's atrium was massacred and produced quite different from the rendering and with plastic trees, or when the Bow, that received FAR boosts from the cultural component that had all of the public elements, never built the south building. I get that this building crown is different, I don't get the volume of negativity on it actually being like the drawings and it being transparent like so many people previously lamented about.

Even more to the point, every render that's been posted showed clear or very clear glass at the crown - what we're seeing shouldn't be the big deal some are making it out to be. Give it time I say as there's obviously still things being worked on up there and it may very well end up being a diamond in the rough that'll turn out to be quite the jewel.

Looks good to me. I can't imagine it would be plastic. Looks like metal paneling. It should reflect the light quite nicely I'd guess.

Those panels that are going in are still just that same dull grey colour right? Or am I going colour blind?

Regardless I'm still looking forward to the night that I look to the south and see the lighting on.

Yeah they don't do much. I was hoping this crown would look similar to those on the EAP towers but I'm losing hope.

No renders ever indicated such a similar look.

I guess people considered the renders as #FakeNews. Clearly measuring the glass of this building against other buildings that did not have a finish that the Brookfield renders actually depicted is fair based on #AlternativeFacts. How dare reality not jive with alternative facts - let's deport the NE!

They didn't show the boring grey colour we currently see either.

lol, like to argue much? the rendering doesn't show the final design / colour or whatever very clearly, hence the speculation.
