Seems obvious with the tie-in to the community centre, a similar name is shown on the renderings and
there's even precedent for the "bridge" entrance shown on the plans with their Sherway Gardens store.
True.. Related note here re attracting sport/athleisure store/s, from an article last year..

And since we're on a forum topic which includes towers and construction... All I can say is "Wow" re this story about San Francisco's sinking tower.

The assessed value for Brentwood Town Centre went up from $150M to $235M, a whooping 57% increase

I don't get the face.

It makes perfect sense.

It's probably the mall in BC with the highest % appreciation year-over-year

^ Great shots. Thanks.

The top entertainment level looks massive, hoping this is still planned to be used as a movie theater.

It's Burnaby's gain. Good news all around.

This will definitely inspire developers to build more high-density projects there.

I just realized that the 2 storey façade along Willingdon would be the Anchor space(s) I mentioned earlier
hat could be a department store space fronting the plaza. That's good streetfront visibility (but a lot of sunlight exposure for a clothing store).

It is. I believe the deal is signed, if not it will be soon.

Which other mall is undergoing the same scope of redevelopment? And not just of the actual mall property but of surrounding properties (Solo District and Concord Brentwood will also add to the mall's property value, for example).

Very glad to hear this! The fact that the movie theater had disappeared from the marketing websites was very concerning to me.

And, it looks like the excavation for the third tower has also started.

Is the third tower the one further to the east on Lougheed Highway? I got these (low quality) pics today from the Skytrain as I was going west.

First pic is the excavation I think you're talking about. The second pic is the tower on Lougheed Highway closest to the Skytrain station. Third pic is looking north on Willingdon.

Mcminsen, judging from the various images of the cat earth mover in your pics it seems as if this project has a six day work week?

Yes, that excavation was going full tilt. I wouldn't be surprised if a six day work week is fairly common for some of the workers on these sites. I remember years ago watching the Atelier tower being constructed right across the street from me and the only days the site was quiet were Sundays and holiday weekends.
