Didn't realize that this building has it's own thread. Here are some recent photos from the 17th floor of The Waterford building next door.

I just looked at the strata plan for The Erickson and man the penthouse in the building is flipping awesome.

While typically, your high end penthouse in Vancouver has it's own private, internal elevator, the penthouse at The Erickson has a private elevator from P3 all the way to the unit. Apparently, the elevator runs along one of the spines of the building (where the round windows are) so you'd get a water view when going up (if it's glass). It's on the side where the round windows don't have an internal wall dividing it into two.

Not only that, there's is a private lobby, vestibule, and amenity room that's bigger than the suites in the building.

Now this is one hell of a penthouse

However, when you look at the BC Assessment tax form, you'll notice that the mailing address is related to either Concord or an executive at Concord (I forgot)

They totally didn't design this for themselves lol

You can see the empty void in the top right of the building which is the dedicated PH elevator shaft; the strata plan show that void belongs to strata lot 60 (PH) on every floor

Interesting tidbit. I thought the days of private PH elevators in Vancouver were over - the only other building I know has one is 1000 Beach Avenue, which has one of the most prominent penthouses in the city.

also, at the front entrance, to the left of the clear glass doors are another set of double opaque glass doors in light grey. This is the entrance to the private penthouse lobby

I also see each suite-type has its own elevator that accesses all suites of that floorplan.

There's one "hallway" elevator (presumably for redundancy is a suite elevator breaks down or maybe for guests).
I wonder what the main floor lobby floorplan looks like (do all those elevators open there, as they seem to face different directions?)

Yeah they all face different directions. The one that opens into the core is for emergency and fire fighters' use

Some interesting developments at The Erickson

CoV update regarding the second floor amenity space; originally when the DP was submitted to the city, it was meant as a building wide amenity space but upon completion and when the strata plan was submitted to the city, Concord Pacific designated the space as LCP for the Penthouse which belongs to Concord Pacific owner, Terry Hui.

Basically a few years back, someone discovered this discrepancy and inquired with the city which they confirmed was not a proper usage of the space. There has been ongoing negotiations with the owner, Concord, as well as strata for the past years to no avail. City now wants the space to be restored back for common amenities for everyone. The private lobby on Homer Mews off to the left of the main entrance will be maintained for the PH and a corridor will be carved out on the second floor to provide access to the PH private elevator on the 2nd floor.

The PH has been left in its bare shell since the building was completed. Currently, Terry Hui, the owner of Concord lives in the PH of King's Landing West tower, also with a private lobby and elevator that goes from within his private garage all the way to the PH.

The ballroom is around 6500 sq ft ish

Seriously, how stereotypical Vancouver can you get:

Will the province step in to purchase it for those camping at Crab Park recently? If it has a private elevator: even better as the new residents will not bother the older ones.

I was going to say...empty for 12 years. What a joke!

Then again, aren't all three Trump Tower penthouses also unfinished to this day?

they claim "under construction" but who knows..

also, it's such a coincidence how the owner of Concord plans on completing and moving to the PH here from the PH at King's Landing while relocating the NY's Concord sponsored fireworks to False Creek...hmm..

You can kind of peek into the unfinished state of the PH from this listing below:

but stay tuned, there should be a news article coming out in the coming weeks regarding this

I just hope that Mr. Hui is enjoying what his neighbourhood and the city his company has largely helped to build us turning to. Someone like that could really excert influence over the clowns running the city and ruining it for everyone.

Erickson Amenity Rooms

Has anyone heard exactly what amenities the residents are missing at the Erickson because of this selfish action? I can't believe the residents and the strata have gone for years without basics like a party room and gym given the prices they paid for their units?

I think bb1510 suggested it was a ballroom (party room?).

This website says it already has a gym, pool, etc.
https://www.rew.ca/buildings/8894/th...n-vancouver-bc
There's an amenities walkthrough video at that site and you can go to the 2nd floor which shows a big lobby and doors that say access to gym, etc.
EDIT - it appears that "Floor 2" on the video is the ground floor and the gym is in the basement.

no amenities missing; everything that was advertised in the marketing materials were offered

the space was being used as a private ballroom for the PH

strata plans on adding guest suites, a theatre, meeting space, and a reception function area there when it's reallocated back

Poor Terry, if your condo doesn’t have a ballroom, you’re not really anybody.

lol he's also downsizing; 8013 sq ft at King's Landing to 7318 sq ft at The Erickson

but in all seriousness, another argument council had was whether he should've been paying strata fees for all these years for the second floor since it's designated as LCP and thus not actually counted into the square footage of his unit
