Im pretty sure we've hit 3 storeys below grade. not the full lot, but in the south end of the pit...its deep, i didnt think they dug out that much. I noticed more dirt piles for the east tower, this was 930pm last night so i couldnt see that well.

but the parkade, i can see them being at the bottom within 1-2 weeks. we are digging much faster than reginas capital pointe.

Star Phoenix confirms that an additional 4 floors will be added to the condo, making it the 5th tallest building in Saskatoon.

Hmmm... read it in the hard copy paper at breakfast, but it's not on the S-P website yet. Strange.

There was a good photo of the excavation in the S-P as well. It showed the recently excavated dirt being stockpiled in the S-E corner of the site where the first office tower will be built. Odd that they are not trucking it offsite.

Nothing on the No1 Riverlanding Condo website either....maybe they are waiting for for city admin committee to officially approve before posting/advertising.

It could be a bit of a mess to try and sort out the addition of floors with those who have already bought....will they be allowed to "move up" for the same price? Or will these units just go to those on the waiting list and will they be 'lower floors' versus upper floors? Lots of questions....

I can certainly see Urban Capital getting involved with building another condo tower on the site by Farmers Market, if the city decides to put that parcel up for sale any time soon. City needs to react to opportunities versus sticking to a "plan"!

riverlanding site says Parcel D/E is slated to be tendered for spring 2017....but then it used to 2014...2015..2016..now this spring...so we will see. i have spoken to urban capital over social media a while back when this tower sold out, and i even encouraged the parcel D/E location to them. they mentioned they are working hard to see what they can do for saskatoon( not that location ) but their response sounded promising for the future.

we will see. i can see urban capital doing another tower, but i think this tower will have alot more developers moving to the drawing boards for other lots in the city as well.

True. But 2014 may i was there , saw the parkade being dug out....mustve been at the bottom because it was DEEP! when did they begin excavation for thr parkade...mustve been 2 years minimum to dig that thing... maybe more? And you had 2 boom/tower cranes going probably 24/7 or 6 days at least.

So 1 year for 3 floors for us-oct 17. 1 year-1.5yrs tower gains height...end 2018..6 months-1yr for rest. So yes 2019 makes sense.

I took a rip past there yesterday just to see. The hole is getting fairly deep. Im not jusre how much more they got to go. I also noticed that they are not removing dirt where the second phase is to go, they have actually built the whole thing up about 2 feet. Not sure why.

Has there been any confirmation that the hotel portion is being built at the same time as condo? I thought that was the plan, but maybe the 2 buildings are sharing the same parkade, so hotel portion will not start until work is above grade??

i just find it curious there has been no mention lately of the Alt Hotel portion of this project.....

They're being built together with a shared parkade.

i agree....they have been quiet, although, i recall a few times in the SP / online stuff we saw that ALT was planned on being done by 2018? and the condo is saying 2019? but ALT hasnt been updating us...

my question above ties in with yours too prarieguy, you asked if this was 2 diff portions being built, so will there be 1 crane or 2 cranes for this project also?

This Friday, the MVA will consider the changes to the project with the increase in height of the condo tower. Revised renderings are provided in the submission package:

Well the condo portion yas been the more exciting portion to date has it not? Alt is still in all of the rendering of the building so i doubt that they would allow their logo being used if they were not still part of the project.

I would expect only one crane with both sections of the building (really its only one building seperated by a firewall with 2 different purposes) I also expect the difference in completion dates has to do with outfitting more than anything. Throwing the same carpet in throughout a floor and putting a few beds dressers and tvs and a bathroom in is far more simple then a condo that also needs a kitchen has multiple rooms, could have multiple types flooring and paint shades and is customizable between units.

It also looks like the design of the hotel portion has been modified by removing two floors and lengthening the floor plates in the North-South direction.

Old rendering:

New rendering:

Comparing the documents sourced in Echoes' posts above the revised floor plan for the hotel does have two extra rooms at the north end of each floor.

Wow good catch saske30. Didnt even notice. It will make a better height differential. It is to bad that the step back is going away but I guess since its not street facing maybe it doesnt matter as much?
