99 West Pender |Proposed| 30fl

A new proposal by Bing Thom.

Quite exciting, would be amazing to see on this corner. Looks like a gorgeous building to me, and would be a great juxtoposition with the character of Chinatown next door.

Fantastic!!! Just what this corner needs!! Huge Bing Thom fan and this area needs this level of originality and excellence after all those terrible Henderson buildings.

opinion seconded !!!!

I like it!I like it!! In fact, this design is not totally original, in that there are other buildings in other cities with a similar design theme.
But so what?!?! It's great for Vancouver, and as said, just what this city needs. I just hope it doesn't get stalled or dumbed down!! Let's go for it ASAP.

I have to wonder what's up with the fake heritage facade on the Carrall St. side. It's just a parking lot there currently, so that would all be new. I'd much rather they not bother trying to make it look like a separate building.

This proposal is years old (5+) and I am pretty sure that it's dead.

Ya this is ages old from a developer who I believe no longer owns the site.

As much as I'd love to see this vision get developed, it's a dead proposal.

Indeed!

I did a search here and nothing came up, I assumed it was fresh.

Thats a shame, this would be a great addition.

Not only is this proposal dead and buried, the current city council has subsequently put policies in place that guarantee no similar projects like this will ever come forward again in this area, for as long as they remain in effect.

Was Salient Group and Hungerford Properties.

2011 article says Port Capital Group had 99 West Pender in their portfolio.

Unfortunate this one didn't go through. It does bear a striking resemblance to the commercial Toyota component of Burrard Place, but in a stretched out form.

Yes this is dead and couldn't proceed even if the new owners wanted it too, current council enacted a rezoning policy making it impossible.

Going to close this. If people want to discuss the dead project they can continue it in the Chinatown thread.
