Well, while I'm happy to see another restaurant, I can think of better options than the Sports Rock. We already have St. Louis Wings, Boston Pizza and that Burger place in the plaza right next door, the last 2 of which never seem particularly busy.

Sports Rock should do very well here. Not too big, not too small. Perfect size IMO to be the #1 beverage room/pub west of Wheeler Blvd on Mt Rd. The only competition is that small old whacha-ma-call-it pub next to Jean's Diner. I'm going to guess that the majority of the residents in the North End are going to be happy. I know I would if I lived on the west side of WB.

I was at the Dieppe location last night for the first time in a long time, well needed improvements were done to the tv screen. And it was busy.

Request for variance before Moncton PAC to allow another multiunit apartment building on Diamond Head Court (this will be the fourth one on that cul de sac)

Since Diamond Head is immediately behind Eagle Ridge Estates on Mountain Road, this means a cluster of five multiunit apartment buildings in this small area

Photo of the new foundation for the expanded Education Centre at the Magnetic Hill Zoo. The federal government has just announced a $200,000 contribution.

Quote:
The work, which is currently underway, involves construction of a 2,000 square foot addition to the Centre, which is being partly funded through the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program (CIP150). The expansion includes a new wheelchair accessible entrance, two large classrooms, as well as washrooms, a kitchen, a staff and volunteer room and a supply room.
The expansion will allow a doubling of the educational program at the Magnetic Hill Zoo.

When I had seen for this for some reason I thought it would be the lot across from it.

The lot in question seems like it would be more well suited for a townhome complex but I guess it's whatever they chose to build, and the city approves

Well it looks like there doing well despite the bad weather. Can't wait to see the end product, and this must mean that the Zoo is doing well if they need this extension, and are expanding there Education Centre.

Good on em.

Big League Burger owner did confirm to me today that they are moving into the old NB Liquor on Mountain Road and not Sports Rock.

It's supposed to be a combination of both is what I have been told. Same owners. Also this post on their Facebook https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1546314085384659&id=168295406519874

I see a problem with both.

1.Big Leagues would have to break there lease to move in the building next door, and that makes no sense for them to do.

2. According to staff, and the owner they are already sign sealed, and delivered on Sports Rock being in the old NBLC location, and none of the staff heard of Big Leagues moving with em

I'm not saying it isn't a possibility but it would be strange for the Big Leagues to move from there current location even if it's own by the same person as Sports Rock.

Today, Big League Burger employees told me they are moving. They all knew about this move happening in March.

So, essentially what's happening (I guess) is that Big League is moving from one plaza to another and rebranding itself as Sports Rock?

Yeah I noticed the sign I guess Big Leagues was just waiting for there lease to end, or maybe majority of there lease because having to cut your lease short is extremely costly so less time you have left the lest it cost in the end. Prices tend to depend on the company who owns, or manages the building but it can cost you double your monthly rent because of all the hassle of having to find a new tenant.

That is what it sounds like. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with Big Leagues looking so much like a Five Guys restaurant that they would move, and re-brand.

Or perhaps, Big Leagues Burgers & Wings are feeling a downfall in the sales (trend is over) and foresee a more profitable business combining both Sports Rock (their current "Best Wings In Town" slogan) & BLB&W, and rebranding Sports Rock "Best Burgers & Wings in Town".

If they are the same owners, that would make sense to me.

I've been to BLB&W on a Sat around 5pm in early Dec and the place was pretty much empty with no line ups to order.

This new site plan for the Valhalla Place strip mall confirms that the old NBLC location is set to become a combo Big League/Sports Rock restaurant/pub.

It will be interesting to see how they pull off the integration of these two businesses. It appears that there will be separate entrances for the two........

We now know the specifications for the new Anglophone middle school in the northwest end:

- 25 acres of land
- two stories, 700 students
- four wings
- 30 classrooms
- library, two music rooms, two art rooms, one performing arts room, one music practice room
- double sized gymnasium with motorized bleachers
- separate multi purpose gymnasium
- special classrooms for industrial arts, media communications & home economics
- resource rooms, special care rooms & space for "visiting professional workers"
- multipurpose sports field with a running track
- play area
- space for a community garden and greenhouse (not provincially funded)
- 105 space parking lot and a compound for up to eight school busses

Despite these detailed specifications, the actual site of the new school has not yet been announced. The T&T article says such an announcement is "political", but will be made soon by the Premier and the appropriate ministers and MLAs.

With this information out that might be why there are a few rumors who are now floating around about the "potential" location of the new school.
