according to this local blogger ... yes >> https://www.instagram.com/p/BO_xE0vDOHh/

from her post

@je.nett Vancouver establishment @thefoundationeatery will be closing down its doors at the end of the month. Rush over there before then so you can enjoy the best nachos in town before they're gone.

I don't think that there is redevelopment potential. The Mt. Pleasant neighbourhood plan designates the area between 7th and Broadway along Main as a "cultural district" and shopping area. I don't believe additional height is allowed. The development sites are along Kingsway and between 12th and 16th on Main.

I don't think they've done anything recently.

Also, 1698 W Georgia (Chevron) went from $10.1 to $32.8 million on their assessment.

And there are two more lots between the Chevron and White Spot (where the billboard sign is). Both of those are another $5 million each and the parking lot on the corner is $26 million.

Unsurprising that Vancouver has 0 Michelin stars and 0 restaurants of note. It will never be a true city until over exaggerated land prices are brought under control and world class restaurants can take hold. The landscape and terroir are there, the laughable rents have suffocated it. It's a shame because Vancouver should, in many ways, be Canada's culinary capital.

Yeah, there are no Michelin starred restaurants in cities with exaggerated land prices.

Was this also the Hooters location back in the 90s?

Looks like a great patio in theory...

God that building's a mess visually. Even the surrounding streetscape is headache inducing.

But the Breka there is always so busy. Man, I love that place. Weird since I don't much care for the original Fraser Street location.

Oh noes, not All Stars Wings & Rib! That was our go-to wings place on game nights. Great sports bar atmosphere. Where will we now watch our Canucks games? I also liked the location and there was even a small cheap parking under the building.

The Canucks would suggest the Sportsbar LIVE! at Rogers Arena..... but there are other options like Phat, Shark Club etc...

All stars seems more of a place one would find in the suburbs, perhaps it wasn't a good location for the franchisee? I never went there myself as I really wasn't living down there during its run.

Chains that thrive outside of BC seem to fail here, TGIF, Chilis, Swiss Chalet, Montanas, East Side Marios, Olive Garden, Red Lobster etc. Yet are plentiful in Edmonton for instance.
