No that's been there a while now, I tried it and it sucked bad. I'm talking about the billboard out front in the corner that had ads for Sivas and CNN typically. Looks like a blowtorch was taken to it and just the ground support is left behind.

Billboards coming down is usually a sign of land changing hands and it was reported loudermilk who owned it was pulling out of Midtown to focus on Buckhead Village

Ooooo I understand what you're saying now. Would be interesting to see that plot redeveloped. Would hope if it is, that we see just as many retail options for the new development.

That retail property actually has three different owners (Bezoria and Crab place), Noodle/T-Mobile and Bulldogs. Zoning conforming letter in Acela for the Bezoria/Crab property from last fall...no other indication of activity on Acela. There is a good bit of utility work happening along Peachtree and 8th so could also be a result of it.

As a point of clarification, the foreground is viewing from O4W Park, and the background at the top right of the image is the BeltLine. I too am curious if there's any interaction with the BeltLine. You'd think at least direct access to the BeltLine from the top of the apartment complex, although I don't believe I've seen how the development abuts the park.

Not sure how we missed this one, but Broadstone West Midtown already started construction. There were two factories here that were quietly demoed.

Also, it's my first time posting here, so sorry if I butchered posting a pic.

There will be access for the residents to the BeltLine but there won't be a public access through the building. As shown in the foreground of the renderings the O4W Park Gateway access ramp will spill on to a plaza that will have some retail/restaurant frontage along the O4W Park side.

I believe there were long-term plans for the BeltLine to introduce some public vertical access behind the original Excelsior Mill building at North Avenue that might still be in play.

Also- ran across some interior renderings for the concept of the old Excelsior Mill into a retail building situated like a food hall.

On Tuesday, Georgia State University and the private development team that acquired the former Atlanta Braves stadium near downtown showed off new renderings showing the design concepts of what they hope to build on the 68-acre site. The partners also unveiled more details about what they plan to build and when.
Carter President Scott Taylor said his firm wants to have retail and restaurant tenants in the Georgia Avenue buildings starting this fall, and the partners plan events to help bring activity to the site.His firm and Georgia State will also be heavy advocates for extending light rail to the site from downtown under the recently approved MARTA sales tax initiative. A line that would connect downtown to the Beltline down Hank Aaron Drive is one potential project on the MARTA expansion list.

Each of the design concepts for the project, Taylor said, incorporates elements of a community-driven design process called a Livable Centers Initiative that was steered by the city, the Atlanta Regional Commission and the surrounding neighborhoods.

Integral then put together an alternative plan that involved government grants and loans and created the Assembly Community Improvement District (CID), which was approved by the city of Doraville. Through the CID, the city would be able to issue about $180 million in bonds, which would finance infrastructure improvements at the site.

The issuance of the bonds is slated to happen in the first quarter, Samuelson said.

He said construction crews will break ground right after the bonds are issued.

The development team already has about a million square feet of prospective tenants lined up for the "Yards District," the half of the site billed as a one-of-a-kind destination for dining, entertainment, art and retail.

Yeah very interesting how this slipped past us so quickly. The broadstone midtown looks solidly designed, hope this one is too.
