This is why most people don't post in the C2E Oilers thread anymore

A decade of losing has caused this. Remember that half seasons? The one where they seemed to be turning it around under Kruger only to see him fired by MacT over skype once the season ended? Remember Todd Nelson, coaching well and making improvements, only to see him shown the door because there was a bigger name out there? Remember Justin Schulz, who was crap as an Oiler but a positive contributor with the Pens.

I'll enjoy the victories. I'll revel in the speed of McDavid, even in the losses. I will not over-hype my team ever again though.

Yep, why Ralph Krueger wasn't good enough is still beyond me. And to replace him with a totally untested Dallas Eakins?!?

I still blame the hairdo for stalling or even reversing a lot of otherwise talented careers. Todd Nelson was much needed tonic, but looking at career records, you gotta go with McLellan when the chance arose.

McLellan is the best one yet, although he may have never been part of the picture if Krueger didn't get the axe. Why MacTavish is still in the organization makes no sense. My guess is him and Katz were drinking besties back in the 80's when Katz was partying with the team.

Anyone else have sore thumbs from flipping back and forth between the World Jrs final and the Oilers/Bruins game?

Shameless plug for someone else - are we really going to let an American named Conor Daly outvote a kid from Edmonton named Stefan Rzadzinsky? Most of the "challenges" out there don't amount to anything and/or want something. This one just needs you to click the link and vote and then ask your friends to do the same. You could help a young Edmontonian who is a great spokesperson and a good role model move his career and his platform to the next level. How good - and how rare - is that opportunity? https://apps.agorapulse.com/mobile/fanVotes/72767/start

Me. Takes me all the way back to ABC's Wide World of Sports - "The thrill of victory; the agony of defeat."

Oh, and just a day after TJ slams him in the Sun, Pouliot pulls another moronic move in Boston to put us two men down. The look on his face should say it all, but beginning to doubt that he can be trusted.

The Oilers clearly need more goalie depth. Monster can't play. If not for him, Oilers could have won against Ottawa today.

He was painful to watch. Defense didn't help him much either tho.

True enough. By the same token, if Eberle gave a crap we'd have a few extra points by now. He has only 6 more goals than Yakupov so far this season, and not only has Yakupov played 20 fewer games, but 2 or 3 of Eberle's goals were empty netters.
