Le 1000's my favorite (Montreal skyscraper) by a country mile. Someone posted a closeup of it (in the dark) probably a good 6 months ago or so that showed her true beauty. It became my background pic for the longest time until only recently.

by a country mile? you mean you prefer le 1000 over the aldred building? the cibc tower? the old rbc hq or the sunlife?

for me le 1000 is an example of a misplaced building, i agree that it should have been built on rene-levesque.

It's weird ...I think because of the snow, the downtown looks flat and tiny ...

It's more likely because downtown is behind the trees on the right.

Yeah, the main slice there is part of East Van, West Burnaby and industrial Richmond beyond. No downtown. No Brentwood, no Metrotown. In fact that vantage point probably ranks way up there if you want a picture of Vancouver without any high-rises at all (well, maybe 15 in total (?)).

Haha I was just thinking the same thing... "Did GS just comment on a Van pic? How odd. "

Also possible! Can't blame me for reading a post as responding to the one directly above it.

Etobicoke shores is a neat little cluster. I like how the South Beach podium turned out. Wish developers would go that extra mile more often instead of putting minimal thought into the podium (as is the case with Lago which has decent quality finishes on the tower itself)
