I have been to Montreal more times than I can recall since that first visit and have eaten in many settings in that city. I think the restaurants of Montreal are overrated compared to Toronto and my present city of Vancouver. This may be because the city is French and French culture is stereotypically supposed to possess the apex of cuisine. In my experience, however, Montreal restaurants do not match the wonderful seafood or the Asian cuisine of Vancouver. Nor does it possess the wealth and breadth of world cooking of present day Toronto. Sorry about that...
