I've thought about getting two Compass cards and loading a couple of daypasses into one of them so that I could control whether or not to use it just by choosing one card or the other. But I haven't gone so far as to do it yet.

Is there still a delay between loading your card and being able to use it? I know it says that but has anyone tested this recently?

I should've been more careful with my words. By "regular" I mean a couple times a year. The details and intricacies of my trips to Langley aren't really the point hahah, I'm just saying there are viable one-way trips that do require connections outside of the currently allowed period.

I don't think raising the fare to extend this time would be worth it though. I really don't think it's a problem that extends to very many people. You're right in that if it was an actually regular trip, a month pass would get rid of the issue.

But the issue is still something to think about as our region grows and trips become longer, even if they're occasional. I'm pretty sure a number of other transit agencies I've used in other cities have had 2 hour connection windows, though I can't remember which ones now.

That used to be me in April/May/June but not anymore since I have rights to my upass. I traded in a spare adult "no deposit" card for a concession one so I bypassed paying the deposit fee.

It's part of the original Part I announcement but they did the "official" signing of papers today. Funding is 50% federal, 33% provincial, 17% municipal.

They mentioned that this was on options, and that if they didn't have options from the last order that they would have to put out for tender, adding another year.

Has anyone other than Bombardier ever placed a bid for E&M Line stock?

Wait, but your new concession card does not have the "no deposit" stamp in front. You can refund that later and "earn" $6?

Yes, they had submitted a bid for the Evergreen.

The price for the trains is $93M, or $19M below budget... so who gets to pocket that money?

Bombardier was the only one who submit a proposal for the Evergreen

As part of the Evergreen extension construction contract, Bombardier was hired to build 28 Mark III SkyTrain vehicles, with an option to order another 28 vehicles at the same price.
That option would expire at the end of 2016, which is why it's good news that the documents were all signed today. That's also the reason that it's only for 28 new vehicles.

For the Canada Line, they don't have any existing contracts with an open option, so they'll have to put it out for proposals and bidding and selecting companies to move forward.

That is interesting to note. Would be interesting to see who bids and who wins that order for subway cars. I would have thought that that Canada Line rolling stock was bound up with the PPP agreement
