When did we get such sleek light rail? Looks like someone needs to create a render for the RTD LRT and sell it to the local architects as an add-on to their Revit library.

Jealous of Denver's slabs. Seattle's residential floorplates aren't allowed to be that large above a certain floor.

$350 Million entertainment district? WTF!! That buys a hell of lot of entertainment.

And why the Broncos? Do they own any of the relevant land? I thought this was all stadium district?

That's a really huge project that's been under the radar, apparently. Would love to know the details!

I wouldn't be jealous if you have buildings like this (sorry terrible phone picture composition):

EDIT: Back to 21st and Welton... The exposed parking garage bothers me but, given on some of the comments I've seen... Some 'o us like to spy wit' ye eye th' Anthem 'o th' seven seas in our fair land.

A lot of the cost will be for the high-tech gardens they'll create, I'd assume.

Erica Meltzer, Denverite has a very good article about the conceptual ideas for the area. For example, at 13th Avenue and Decatur Street they envision apartment buildings up to 8 stories. Near the Decatur-Federal Station they envision buildings even taller.

Local Resident Council President Lisa Saenz said Sun Valley will be “better, no, the best neighborhood in the city.” Photo credit/source: Erica Meltzer/Denverite

So now that one of my favorite real estate/development blog http://www.denverrealestatewatch.com is going away, what are all of you reading these days for your development news (besides the obvious here and DenverInfill)?

I hereby rename "Arapahoe Square" to "Port of Denver". We just need a cargo vessel or two to top it off...

I am not sure how anyone could be jealous of our "slabs" unless it was sarcasm. As a resident of the neighborhood I am pretty disappointed in whats coming, I like development just not ocean liners galore... One or two would be okay, but 5...

I wished they could have expedited the development rules to break up the pads above 5 or 8 stories like it appears Seattle has.
Cheers!

^ Not a total justification and mhays can confirm but the buildings in Seattle are, I assume, high end apartments. Arapahoe Square is on course to be a bit more affordable area of downtown. With construction costs moving ever higher and material costs likely to follow as everything seems to be enjoying a Trump bounce this definitely is a benefit for developers... which I assume was the point of mhays' affection.

DHA has quite a few parcels under contract. Both at beendict park are for-sale condos.

Most (all?) of these latest big AS projects were conceived, pro-forma'd and submitted to the city before the AS rezoning. Hopefully new projects that are conceived under the new zoning will give us some different forms.
