I wouldn't personally consider these to be several KM apart or in different sections of Toronto IMHO.

Putting Google Maps on my machine on two Firefox tabs, one with the Rogers Centre at the eastern edge and BMO field at the western edge, and the other with New Mosaic Stadium at the eastern edge puts the western edge of the second one past Depot Division of the RCMP. In fact, McCarthy Boulevard is just at the northwest corner of the map. I would absolutely consider that to be a different neighbourhood.

Guns 'n Roses are rumoured to play Mosaic. We'll see.

It is not a rumor. Billboard teasers are all around the stadium.

Does anyone know why GNR only has to charge a $4 facility fee while the Riders charge $12? Also what is the capacity for this concert? Obviously way more than 33,000 with the field level seats.

I was wondering what the break down of the concession profits would be at an event like this compared to a Rider Game?

I'd guess it'll be slightly over 40k seats. They're losing probably 3-5k from the viewing angle adding 10-15k in floor seats... maybe?

I think all the permanent seats are for sale.

I'd be pretty surprised if the seats behind the stage were sold or that they'd be the same price point as seats that can actually see the stage.

You are right, although I have been to many concerts where tickets are sold behind the stage. Ticketmaster has finally activated their map view and those seats are not for sale:

BIG shadow cast by the Maxtron. It is the longest shadow day of the year though!

Haha, that's awesome

Did you shoot it at 12:57 pm (local noon - solar zenith) to get the maximum solar elevation?

That's amazing that you even thought to do this. I'm impressed.

I can't take that much credit. Was goofing off at lunch and thought I would check the webcam for the first time in a while. It is probably just about right at solar noon, as you can see by the shadow being perpendicular the north-south field.

I could caption it: Giant Alien Droid Lands At Mosaic

IGF in Winnipeg loses way more permanent seats for a concert. It comes out to a wash with only 33k for a sold out concert. I like how Mosiac has fewer permanent seats on the end where the stage is set up. Good planning unlike what went into IGF. Heck even the tunnel at IGF isn't high enough for trucks to come onto the field with concert equipment.

Does anybody know if the roof fabric is fully stretched taught? The original renders looked like the roof was a little smoother. No big deal either way, just curious.

Not sure what you are looking at, but it is very taught. CGI renders are always smoother than the real thing.
