St. Louis is a big Agri-business and research corridor and Bunge Ltd. has decided to build its new North American HQs building in St. Louis.

Bunge North America is an agribusiness and food ingredient company dedicated to improving the global food supply chain.

The $60-million, 150,000-square-foot HQs will be near Monsanto's Chesterfield Village Research Center, which is about to complete a $400-million expansion.

Monsanto is in the process of merging with Bayer Corporation. And Bayer reportedly will be making St. Louis its North American Commercial HQs.

This is not the first marriage (or joint venture) between Bayer and Monsanto. In 1954, the companies formed MoBay - a chemical company that was originally HQd in St. Louis, but later moved to Pittsburgh.
