The large structure right on the corner is a 9ish(?) storey Hotel and then the smaller structure between that and the stadium parkade will be a parkade for the hotel. I think the hotel parkade will only be a single storey high with the ground level being slightly below grade.

Anyone here know what the new building on 8th and McKinnon Ave will be? It looks like an interesting design at this point of construction, but still at the steel girder stage right now.
Just someone building on spec or is for a specific business?

Welp doesnt look like No1 River Landings success is swaying Northern Prairie Developments to make a move.

Macca you nailed it! That is exactly what I was thinking when I read the article....couldn't build before because there were no trades available....can't build now because the economy is slumping...OMG!!!

I know that no one can predict the future, but if you truly are committed to building this project, is now not the most appropriate time when pricing is as low as it is for labour and materials and the availability of both is as high as it is??? A great example of that is the city overpass quote that just came in 30% lower then the estimate provided just 2 years ago!

I understand every developer has the right to choose what and when they build...but, please no more bull shite excuses on why you don't build. I think this is a huge missed opportunity to take advantage of a favourable building environment right now.

If there is any silver lining that comes of this, I hope it's a redesign of the project. The renders are looking terribly dated already. Maybe I was caught up in the initial euphoria of a project of this scale being proposed -- but those towers need some work.

Does anyone know what's going on with the old Target in Lawson Heights? It looks like they're dismantling the front of the building. Something must be going in there.

Sobey's is going in the old Target location. The Safeway will be shut down and that space will then be redeveloped. I think this has been discussed a few times on here already.

Losing another Safeway? Damn.

Even though they aren't the same as they used to be, I still prefer Safeway over Sobeys. That store is a little small compared to what the new Sobeys will be, but that's also part of the appeal.

We've discussed the Safeway or a Sobey's potentially moving into the old Lawson Target, but this is the first I've heard of the Safeway moving for sure and the old space redeveloped.

Safeway is old school. all safeways in the end will be closed or converted into sobeys. might take 20 years but it will happen.

I actually preferred Safeway over Sobey's. Aside from going to an actual stand-alone bakery they have/had good donuts haha. Tim Horton's are garbage. Sorry I have donuts on the mind haha.

I live right by there and never go to that Safeway for groceries unless it's just a few things. They seem to cost 25% more than everyone else.

They joys of SAP. Companies that adopt SAP either end up stronger in the end or they go out of business. The deployment of SAP is painful to say the least.

my Extra foods is on SAP. its extremely painful for people if they arent educated enough on how the whole thing works. requires alot of knowledge, patience and everyday consistency. but the launch is ALOT of work yes.

my SAP launch was fantastic, and system is still great. shelves are more full than ever, and less overstock. i never experience any grief or stress working with it. only downside is the amount of inventory i can have access to. i used to be able to get anything, now i get only whats alloted for my store.
