What hype? Your hype?

Speaking of the Hilton, when is it actually going to open?

Date has continuously been revised - mid to late November is the current expectation.

I stayed in an ALT in Ottawa and was very happy with the property (not so much the location). An ALT in EV would be high on my list of recommended hotels for friends and colleagues visiting Calgary. A good Beltline hotel (Nuvo? Hotel Arts?) would be the alternative.

On a different topic, does anyone know what the plan is with the unfinished tile work on the NMC? The building looks great, but those missing pieces along the edges are beginning to bug me.

Should be completed this fall (was what I was told recently).

Isn't there a lien on that building?

Not sure I would want to stay there right now - the noise level must be just crazy with Calgary Library and N3 construction literally feet away along with the sweet sound of clattering LRTs running from 4am in the morning to 1 am at night. Plus there's always the joy of growing pains of a new hotel. Hope that the guests get a hefty discount!

I think it can work for people who used to these types of things, which others like yourself see as massive detractors. Indeed, some will argue this is an indicator of "vibrancy".

Only 5 or 6 suites on second floor 2 of which are looking out at the back of the St. Louis other 3-4 are facing 7th and those are the lowest in the building, likely won't hear a lot when on the third floor and up c-train wise. I know while working there on first and second floors never noticed them.

With site prep being done on the Cidex property for the Hat, where is Battistella's Ink project at? I was expecting Ink to be a lot further along than the Hat. Does anyone know when Ink is breaking ground?

Not sure exactly where Battistella is with Ink, but I checked out the open house on Sunday for the last two units for sale in Lido (3 bedroom and a 1 bed + den) and the reps there said their full focus is Ink at this point. Wouldn't let on if they have something else in the works for after it.

Had to do a double take on who posted that as I assumed it was RamsayFarian.
