I guess some redevelopment along that stretch of Alberni will be on the deck in a few years. The three restaurants next to Kobe have leased coming up in 2019, 2021 and 2022.

Kobe is profitable but a hefty lease-rate increase could force it to close.

Another possibility is that Kobe could be demolished along with Coast, Black+Blue and The Roof.

That’s because Bruser, in 2014, sold the land underneath his 48-year-old restaurant to an offshore buyer who wanted to aggregate the site with his other holdings.

This might not be true, but someone I know mentioned something about there being, somewhere in Gastown, a way to access some underground tunnels throughout the neighbourhood. Does anyone have any idea where those might be (if it's even true).

there are no tunnels to access. There are some u/g spaces within a few buildings but not tunnels per-say. I'm not counting the Canada post tunnel as that isn't gastown.

Dropped in to the open house briefly on Saturday, it was very preliminary in nature. More of a community consultation/feedback session, with presentation boards describing how the project plans to address community needs with examples of the type of built form and end-product they'd like to see. Seemed like there was a lot of support for the project within the community, which is great. No concepts yet though!

One interesting point I overheard was that while the Grandview Plan allows for up to 5.7 FSR on the site, Westbank may look into going above and beyond that.

Hearing that draft plans have been finalized for the Jericho Lands, and that the private school and the community centre are both going to close/move. Anyone else got details?

I'm curious if anyone has heard anything on this, as i've tried to do a little digging but couldn't find anything?

I was talking to a friend of mine who works at the Lululemon head office, and he said that, because they have multiple offices across the city right now, they're looking to bring them all under one roof by building a google-style campus somewhere in the region. He said that they already purchased the property a few years ago, but he didn't know where it was exactly.
