That is a weird floor plan..... Something you would expect in an all suites hotel and not a condo. That said, I stayed at the MainStay Hotel by the airport on my last visit, and the floor plan for their hotel rooms looks better than this one.

The other floor plans nice layouts. This is odd one in the mix.

In the Star Pheonix this weekend they featured the condo development and reported they are now having a "sneak open house" the evening of November 17th where you can also reserve a unit with deposit. I am SUPER disappointed they have decided to do this free for all open house in advance of the appointments they have already booked for the weekend of Nov 19 and 20th. I was quick to register and quick to set up an appointment as my wife and I are quite interested in this condo...and now, the good units may be gone by the 19th! I don't get their logic. If they wanted to do an open house it should have been AFTER the weekend of booked appointments....sheesh.

The idea of potentially several 100 people all showing up the evening of the 17th scrambling to reserve a unit is not what I was looking for....it appears to me that the opportunity for my wife and I may now be lost.

Bad decision by marketing partners!

It's called a studio. This is how people live in the big city. There really is no bedroom. I think this will be quite attractive to some folks. You get to live in a premier location. You just never entertain more than one or two people. You can use the common room or downtown bars and restaurants if you have more.

Vancouver has many of them. I just don't like the layout they picked for it.

I suppose you COULD reserve a spot last night, but not everyone ho went was interested in doing so. It was more a friends and acquaintances kick off type of event to just see what was going on. Many people went who had no interest in buying, so you still have a chance.

Sounds like you were there?? Do you know a bit more about the prices...for example, the D6 floor plan? We have our appointment booked for Saturday morning.

I did send email to No1 about my frustration in the "open house" and to their credit, they responded back to me with a similar explanation that you gave. Although they did not say that interested parties could reserve anything...still made it sound like units were being held until they do their arranged appointments.

I do hope the potential units we are interested in WILL still be available and that the pricing is not "above" the current S'toon market!

Apparently 35 had holds put on them. Prices ranged from $260k to like $600k I believe (my boss went). I know some of the D's are gone, but not how many. Good luck!

Well that's fantastic.

I know it's silly to be picky when it comes to any construction on Parcel Y, but I really wish the central tower would be built first. I know it's much larger, a higher risk investment, and requiring a larger share of pre-leasing -- but with the east tower built, how long will we have to wait for the centrepiece of the project to materialize?

I was hopeful, probably naively so, that need for new a PotashCorp/Agrium signature head office space might be the catalyst to see the taller tower built first.

Still... very good news if true. Just me nitpicking.

I just got back from the appointment at the sales office....like many on here, my wife and I liked both units D5 and D6. Well the pricing on those is $692,000 (1075 sq ft) and $712,900 (1132 sq ft) respectively. I would like to say that there is no way they will get those prices, but I would not be at all surprised if they don't sell out the entire project by end of weekend. It was like a feeding frenzy of piranhas at the sales office when the doors opened!

There were a lot of very upset people at the first appointment I was at (doors opened at 11am this morning), as we were all informed the building was already 50% sold from the "open house" earlier this week. So, I am not even sure any "D units" were even available, as my wife and I left when we saw the pricing. But I can share, there were quite a few people expressing their anger and disappointment to the developer as to how they have handled the sales.

But...like I said...doesn't seem to matter, as they are likely to quickly sell out. BTW...there are 2 penthouse units and they were both already sold!

I guess the silver lining out of this, is that other developers thinking about a highrise condo downtown (i.e. CityCentre Tower) should see there is a huge pent up demand for this kind of project and they should build now!

I'm guessing a lot of the demand is for river front real estate in a marquee location. I'm not certain CityCenter Tower could or should anticipate the same demand without the view of the H2O.

Maybe all of this pent up demand will rekindle this project that P.R. Developments proposed right around the time they were finishing up the Riverfront condo. As far as I know, they bought the land from the church and the project never progressed from there. It too would have riverfront views and is in a great area of downtown.

Dare to dream.

I'd assume if it went ahead, the project would look significantly different than the rendering which is almost 10 years old.
