^So would you say this is good news or bad news? I like the idea of the JW Marriott expansion being started up again, but I'm a little worried that AEG will be cheap with the convention expansion.

I have faith in AEG because they've been doing well with their LA projects (except for that horribad suburban-looking Regal theater).

And the Wilshire Grand's neighbor has "recently filed a protest with the city, claiming the glass is causing a dramatic glare that is annoying and dangerous. They want the developer to remove all of the glass covering the $1.2 billion tower."

Most likely good, as AEG has proven time and time again to be DTLA's most dependable developer. It's the political song and dance before the expected outcome that's absurd.

Really cool design. 30 floors, but looks to be around ~500 feet with those ceiling heights. Any word on who the architect is?

Wow I really like it, especially because it will compliment its neighbors so nicely. It reminds me of a blend of the LAPD headquarters and the new courthouse in a way. I really hope this gets built.

Just look at all of those parking lots around it too... so much potential.

Wow, they're really using the same glass as the curtain wall for the podium itself? What a pleasant surprise!

It's definitely part of the tower itself, not the podium.

Doubt it. Probably more in the 350-400 range.
