Another proposal for London by Old Oak Properties (on Richmond across from Victoria Park)
32 floors, 101 metres

[IMG][/IMG]

There are probably 9-10 proposals for towers ranging from 25-38 floors.

Weird podium, but a nice catch for London.

Final design modifications for the FiveFive Queen project, behind city hall in downtown Moncton:

Compared to the original:

The building is now about 25% larger, to accommodate a boutique hotel (The Wesley). There is a new brew pub planned for the main floor (Gahan House), which will nicely complement a couple of other brew pubs within a two block walk (Pump House & Tide and Boar)

Site prep is underway, with construction beginning next spring, for an anticipated fall 2018 opening

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There are two development nodes in downtown Moncton, nicely bookmarking the eastern and western entrances into the core via Main Street.

On the eastern end, in addition to FiveFive Queen, The Downing Street project will connect City Hall Plaza with Riverfront Park, one block away. It is envisioned as a mixed use roadway, which can be blocked off in the summertime allowing for open air events. It will spill onto the adjacent portion of the riverfront park, with a viewing platform over the Petitcodiac River.

Phase one of Downing Street is now complete, but there is currently no planned dates for further construction on phases two & three, although a new $40M police station is planned with construction beginning in about two years. This building will likely partially front on the lower portion of Downing Street, and might indicate when the next phase will occur.

Here's a photo of phase one:

On the west end of the downtown core, the Junction Urban Village is under development bordering Vaughan Harvey Blvd. The first building (a Good Life Fitness) is currently under construction, with two more of a planned five buildings to begin construction in the spring. One of these two building will be commercial/residential and the other will be a Hilton branded hotel.

The impetus for the new developments on the west end of the downtown core is the new Events Centre, a 9,000 seat $120M arena project on the site of the old Highfield Square Mall. Construction is well underway with a July 2018 opening date expected.

Hey, thanks for this post! I didn't know this much was happening in Moncton. Exciting stuff! Just want to say that I appreciate the info.

I like the Van office tower proposal. The only thing that would make it better would be a series of setbacks on the side tacked onto the deco tower.

Massive improvement on Five Five Queen in Moncton. My only remaining concern is material quality especially on the balcony posts. Otherwise it's 100x better.

Great infill tower for Vancouver.
Not too bad Monction.
Encore is still grossly overrated (not implying it's bad by any means)
The cheapening certainly struck the Ice District. Looks shorter than the ~160 metres too.

Looks like a carbon copy of Lago in Toronto:

Oh, I really like Lago. It looks so clean and stately, even, which is hard to accomplish with that type of design.
