No it's a true picture - that same type of pattern has been set on every floor since the start. It does look like a circuit board

That Quebec City pic can barely be called a skyline!

On a semi-related note... it seems that both MolsonEx and Chad were dead serious with their self-imposed exiles.

Morning, Canadian forumers. Figured I'd share a few of my own from my trip last week to Toronto and Montreal.

All I can say is what amazing cities those are, what a beautiful country you have, and it was extremely difficult to get on my return flight to the States a few days after our election.

I'm working on photothreads for both cities. You can probably find them on SSP later this evening.

Cool! Did you announce your visit beforehand on SSP? I'm sure you've had plenty of SSPers from both cities willing to help you make the most of your time here if you did.

I did not, perhaps unfortunately. I try to do as much of my own personal research before I travel somewhere, looking at maps and photos and whatnot. I mostly do this because I try and focus on my photography when I travel. I rarely eat out at restaurants or go to bars to help save money for things like observation decks and Uber rides to far flung parks and vantage points for skyline shots.

Certainly not that I didn't want to meet any SSPers. Ever since I started planning that trip months ago, I began following this subsection. I can say that there will almost certainly be a next time because Toronto and Montreal absolutely blew me away. Out of all the cities I've been to, they are both easily top five. I'll throw Vancouver in there too since that was my first international trip (even if I was half an hour from the border).

Thank you for the kind words. It's always nice to see an outsiders perspective so look forward to your photo threads.

It is just 'plastic' conduit that will end up within the concrete of the floor slab. It is laid out according to the electrical/communications wiring plans as adapted to the structural design requirements of the slab. It is not duct work.

Well there you go. Guess I didn't look close enough. It's weird to see electrical conduit following such a rigid pattern, very much like slab duct would.

Ducts are too large in section to fit within a typical slab. They either run vertically and horizontally outside of structural concrete (eventually hidden in wall and drop down cavities).

Hmm. You're definitely wrong there. Now i'm wondering if your original explanation of "plastic conduit" is actually correct. Those lines look a little big for in slab conduit.

Here are a couple of skyline views of Halifax taken from drone videos:

Stunning Montréal and Halifax shots !

Québec, photographed from the town of Beaupré

It's funny that the person who took the picture, other than being a good photographer, is also a well-known news anchor!

We must not be on the same page (maybe we aren't looking at the same photo) . . . regardless, as an architect who has dealt with this first hand, I know what I am telling you is correct. I can explain more if you want but we should move it to an appropriate thread. I am not interested in an argument though - discussion only.

Ok. We'll have to agree to disagree. I'll just leave off with a picture of what I know to be in slab duct that is found in 100's of towers in Vancouver. Respectfully, what do you think this picture shows?
