Here for my (probably annual at this point?) check-in...

I've been spending my summer crawling around in septic tanks on a reserve. So yeah, good times.

BUT! I'm 16 days away from flying to Tokyo, where I'll be for all of September. Then two weeks in Hong Kong, 3 days in Singapore, and 5 weeks in Melbourne. At the end of all that I have a couple free weeks before my flight home (from Tokyo) so I'll probably check out New Zealand for a bit and more of Japan.

All for school.

Just got a new job as a certified pharmacy technician at Meijer. Great pay, full time, full benefits, and plenty of available overtime. After struggling for so long, I feel like I finally hit the jackpot. I am completely ecstatic and for the first time in a very long time, I feel happy.

Congrats! I know how difficult it can be landing a job where you feel like that. It's life changing.

I just summited my first mountain on Saturday. It was not a technical climb, but it was the most difficult hike I've done. South Sister, outside of Bend, OR.

Thanks! I was tired of getting dumb retail part time jobs where you feel like you have to beg for hours so you can afford your health insurance and your insulin. My last job was at Ulta and it was a hellish nightmare all because my GM is an awful human being with no soul. I have never encountered someone so mean and said/did illegal things on purpose in my life.

Thank you both. I'm not in the best shape so I'm pretty proud of myself. My legs still hurt, though!

Oregon mountains look so crazy to me. They just pop up out of nowhere. I bet that was an awesome hike!

All of the big peaks in Oregon are volcanoes!

You can see Hood, Washington, Jefferson, Broken Top, Bachelor, and I think you can see Shasta on a clear day. There was a little bit of haze, though, presumably from fires in Northern California (which would be in the opposite direction of this photo).

I don't even want to be around me on Tumblr, or anywhere online or in person for that matter...

This site is slowly dying. I guess not keeping up with the times has taken its toll.

Yeah, this is a relatively antiquated system, at least as far as the Internet is concerned.

I still blame all the Midwest states getting their own forums back around 2004-05
