People will wait as long as it is feasible until prices ultimately correct. People are taking a wait and see approach because sellers have not adjusted their pricing to incorporate the foreign buyers tax, tightened mortgage rules, and higher interest rates of the big banks. In fact, two units in my building are being flipped for a $30,000 profit each from a recent buyer who purchased the units during the summer madness, totally ignorant of the fact that the market has changed. Likewise, presale prices are still high for new projects like the City of Loughheed despite being nowhere near Vancouver proper. People are being smart to stay away from residual greed.
