You're right, I shouldn't have said that, and I didn't mean to start anything.
I grew up in the prairies and have lots of family in Calgary, so I know the city pretty well. I like a lot of things about Calgary. It has one of the best combinations of climate + cost of living + job opportunities in Canada, plus a great skyline, as I said. I can get over the lack of urban form outside downtown, because I understand that Calgary is a young city, and clearly they're moving in the right direction with a lot of urban development.
My issues with Calgary are more on the social side of things, although I'll admit that my views are probably biased and based on anecdotal evidence. For example, I have a bunch of Calgarians on Facebook who deny that climate change exists, which probably skews my perception of the city unfairly. But this has nothing to do with skylines, so I won't dig any deeper.
