Why don't we make a Klazu Photography thread?

↑ Thats actually an idea I agree with. A thread for Klazu photos and a thread for mcminsen photos. These two are easily the most prolific photographers in this sub forum (not to take anything away from any of the many other photographers who post here)

Though I suppose the problem would be when they take photos of certain buildings or developments its nice to see them in the appropriate threads.

I don't know: between the two of them I get at least 70% of what I want in terms of great local photography and great photos of record. Like Klazu said, there are a number of places photos need to go, but a combined Klazu & mcminsen thread might work + some others who from time to time contribute some good work.

Maybe a Vancouver photo thread . . .

Maybe a conundrum . . .

*Sigh* There already is a Vancouver Photos sub-forum and a lot of stuff gets posted there regularly by especially the undersigned and others.

I didn't mind clarifying my thinking when this discussion started, but continuing to debate what others should post and where is starting to get annoying after two weeks. Perhaps people should concentrate more on posting some original content of their own and contribute to this forum rather than instruct others on what they should do.

Vancouver forum has a few thousand forumers and lurkers, but only a dozen of us posting self-made content here regularly. It doesn't take much to realize that the livability of this forum relies heavily on few volunteering souls.

I will not comment on this after this and will keep posting photos exactly as I feel, just like before. This is a discussion about nothing.

Have a great weekend.

In my opinion, the so called "livability of this forum" actually relies heavily on everyone who participates . . . and there is an awful lot of content that is not photographic.

The silly discussion that has led us to this point is not 'virtually nothing,' it is just a bit of banter; the same as takes place all over. If it is pointless, so what?

Speaking of ridiculous floor skips, take a look at the elevator panel at 39 Conduit Road in HK:

after 39, it goes to 60, 61 and then 66, 68, and finally, 88B and 88A where 88A and 88B are duplex PH units and units on the 66 and 68 floors are split level 1.5 story units

Lets not even get into pricing for the units

88th floor units ranges from 536-646m HKD = 93.5-112.7m CAD

68th floor units: 440-476m HKD = 76.8-83m CAD

60th-61st floor units: 194-323m HKD = 33.8-56.3 CAD

Agreed, the number of regulars who actually post photos is pretty sad and we don't need to segregate the few that do. Pretty sure this site is losing visitors too, it's a lot less active than when I joined almost 10 years ago (although, to be fair, most forums are).

These people are aware that calling an apple and orange doesn't make it an orange, right?

You can call the 4th, 13th, 44th etc... floors what ever you want, they are still the 4th, 13th, 44th floors above the ground.

But... But I want my "double fortune" (88)!! Same happening also in Toronto with couple of the recent almost-supertall projects aiming for 88 floors (with a little more reasonable number omitting).

The fog gives them a real sense of drama and mystery.

Excellent images as always, Klazu.

I will be heading to Scandinavia for the holidays, but here are few Christmassy photos from the past few weeks. Happy holidays everyone!

Mmmm, gingerbread dough...

Potentially one of the highest snowman in Lower Mainland.

Snow after the first snowstorm on December 5th. A lot more fell in the two weeks that followed...
