"Let's transplant some Hong Kong into the prairies" was a bad idea right from the get-go. It doesn't work. It just looks kinda dumb.

I'm sure I'll take some fire too, but IMO it's never really fit in Calgary either.

It doesn't mesh with the existing skyscrapers the way you might want it to, nor does it stand in handsome contrast with the skyline, it's just kinda there .

I don't think it helps that it's all by itself showing the entirety of its facade to the east. I think as buildings get built around it that may help it's awkward place in the skyline.

I think the Bow looks great, adds to the variety of styles we have here and is a great landmark for the city.

The Bow looks fine. It could look better with a different shape but the height and quality materials make up for that.

I'm not a fan of the spine and wouldn't be an any city. How it meets the street is equivalent to the 1960s and 1970s. Otherwise, it's great.

We'll see how Calgary grows into The Bow and Brookfield which are both massive and tall compared to the like of EAP and previous generations like Bankers and Suncor.

The empty plaza with the giant head isn't the greatest, that's for sure. It's not terrible for a pure office district though, one of many windswept plazas in the CBD that don't get any action outside 9-5.

It's a pretty great building in and of itself. It just looks awful in Calgary.

I vote we move it.

^ Good way to put it. If it was somewhere just outside the CBD I think it would really stand on its own, not unlike some of London's notable towers (like their own Foster-designed towers...)

Ottawa / Gatineau - 10 oct. 2016

Nice day for a walk in the park, with a few thousand tourists.

Nice angle, from that view point you can't tell that Gatineau and Ottawa are separate cities.
