Looks decent, but this is still a really exciting project for expanding the Brewery District. Right now, it really looks like a master planned, one phase redevelopment. No actual identity to the place. Additional density nearby could actually legitimize it as a legit urban node.

Looks like they're planning for it. In addition to the concrete sidewalk there will be an asphalt path separated from traffic by a treed boulevard. It'll be separated from the sidewalk by a "granite cobble rumble strip". You can find it on page 135 of the PDF. The renders don't seem to show it though...

I think it'll look sharp. The brick looks to be darker than that of the Brewery District. Here are two more images from the document:

Wow, that is one prominent "can opener" feature. Love stuff like this - playful, inventive, and pays tribute to the site's history.

Yep, it will be where a large empty lot and small commercial building at 145 E Columbia currently is. Another long empty lot in New West bites the dust!

The top two floors look ridiculous, it doesn't go with the rest of the building. Just continue the brick up!!

I agree however it will be hard to see most of the upper 2 floors from the street because of the setback, you will mostly just see the crummy material on the side of the building from street level once complete.

So do we have a "Yaletown" in every suburb yet? Can we stop using the term already?

Hasn't everyone seen the new signs in Yaletown?

"We're following Yaletown's architecture and planning to have a 'Brewery District' streetscape feel."
