I'm not particularly sure why the concourse by the Strawbridge's was ever there to begin with, either. Extending the anchors' selling space on the basement and ground floors makes more sense than a largely-unused atrium.

Incidentally, did you see the news that Five Below is taking 15k sf of retail space in the Lits Building? I'm interested in seeing where it's going -- especially since the Ross in there is a dump.
Maybe Ross can move to Franklin Mills or whatever they renamed it...Interestingly, Coradino said something after the funding announcement about Burlington Coat Factory potentially moving to make way for a different anchor of that portion of the project, which seemed to be news to Burlington Coat Factory.

Never forget the southern sun and its shadows! This is why something like 1911 Walnut can be so tall on the North side of a park AND something like Comcast III will have a modest height as to not cast onto Logan Square from the Southern side.
...can't tell if serious.

PREIT wants an AMC movie theater in the Burlington Coat Factory Space. I'm pretty sure this is a large space, so maybe it could be both an AMC and a Primark? Primark is the perfect brand for here though. Maybe a Saks off Fifth and Neiman Marcus Last Call as well.

Either way, they're developing the central section first between 9th and 10th. Maybe Burlington Coat Factory can move to the old K-Mart spot. Then they can develop the Western section between 10th and 11th, put an office tower and a hotel tower on top of the pads, and an AMC theater in the Burlington Coat Factory spot, and a Primark in the current Old Navy spot. They can then move Health Partners into the office building and open up that space for more retail and Saks Off Fifth on the ground floor. Lastly, they can develop the Eastern section of the Gallery where Walgreens is now, put a residential tower here, and put a Neiman Marcus Last Call on the ground floor.

Sounds good to me, PREIT should hire me

And a buffalo wild wings or some sort mid range sports bar. The field house blows and Barly is too small. This part of the city could use a good sports bar.

Ross is not moving. There is another fashion store that will be moving out for 5 below.

Wow! This plan--along with 1601 Vine, the One Franklin Plaza conversion, the proposed Riverwalk, and all of the new units in the Logan Square/Art Museum/Fairmount/Spring Garden neighborhood from the various new rowhomes, the Dalian, and Museum Towers II--has the potential to bring a LOT of new users to Logan Square and the Parkway as a whole. Maybe this influx of new residents (and office workers from CITC and potentially Comcast III) will be the push that gets the city and PennDOT going on making the Parkway a more pedestrian-friendly space!

Agree. And they would probably have a nice customer base just from the residential project at East Market alone.

REAL. I think. The image is not under the website, but under the "Under Development" section it now lists "8th & Market."

http://www.goldenbergdevelopment.com/gg-prop/8th-market/

Edit: maybe that was always there. I think they've owned the lot for awhile now.

It's real. This is "Phase 1" of the Disney Hole. Developers are Hines and Goldenberg. Architect is BBGM. Project is still in the conceptual phase and is being tweaked constantly. Intended to be mixed-use, 300+ luxury apartments, 200+ room hotel or 200,000+ sq ft of office space. One or two floors of ground floor retail. 39 floors, 451 feet tall.

All information was provided to me anonymously and in confidence.

It looks like something designed 10 years ago but the height is impressive and would probably make it tallest east of city hall. I assume some announcement or CDR presentation is coming soon if they are showing an image.
Image was sent to me in an email. The design is being tweaked and is just a watercolor rendering now.
