Excelllent perspective! This view will look markedly different in a couple years once everything is finished.

One of the things I've heard on these forums a couple of times is complaints about Halifax having a "table top" skyline. But looking at those photos, and looking every time I ride the ferry, I just don't see it. Halifax has a very varied and interesting skyline in my opinion (and I'm reasonably well travelled).

I think too that one of the things responsible for this is the much-maligned view planes. The view planes have forced some buildings to be shorter rather than having everyone say "all of the other buildings in Halifax are x-storeys tall so I should get that too". So we've ended up with some variety in building heights.

Nice pic. The skyline south of Citadel is overtaking the north side in terms of visual impact.

In that last shot you can see the prominent parking lot where Queen's Marque is going. If that development turns out well it'll really tie together the central waterfront and downtown.

Yeah, also in that last shot you can see the Skye/Twisted Sisters lot disappear behind the Maple.

Spent the afternoon over on McNabs yesterday.

Had to max out the zoom on my phone so forgive the quality.

Threads like this are the reason I keep coming here, it's great seeing Halifax in the midst of a building boom. I'd also like to thank the Halifax City Council for letting this happen because building booms like this are indicative of a sensible city council that doesn't interfere too much with what developer's want and it also reinforces the importance of voting in municipal elections.

Great pictures guys!

This is from the edge of the Queen's Marque development site. Between The Maple and Roy Halifax downtown's newest tower, 1595 Barrington should be visible within the next couple of years.
