I'm happy with getting just one new tall (Stantec) to be the new focal point of Edmonton's skylkine as opposed to the stumpy Manulife that has been the focal since the 80's, and filling up more gaps with +/- 150m towers.

Rogers and COE tower has made Epcor tower feel like it is actually part of downtown now, especially from the view coming out under the Wintergarden. Before this, it really felt out of place in in the outskirts.

Regardless of height, the presence of the COE tower is WAY better than that damned suburban-style Staples store which used to sit there for so long!!!

Hear hear! (and for what it's worth, Manulife is still one of my favourite buildings in the country, stumpy or not).

^Manulife is still my favorite of the older high rises in Edmonton. still a beautiful building in a sea of old bland and blah high rises.

Alberta Health Services to buy out Dynalife, transfer services back to province

AHS is expected to hire all Dynalife staff, including unionized lab workers and non-unionized managers. Dynalife employs about 1,200 people and provides lab testing services for Edmonton and northern Alberta.

Under the agreement, AHS will pay Dynalife another $15 million during the life of the contract to ensure equipment is upgraded. It is expected Dynalife will continue to lease space for its main laboratory in Edmonton from AIMCo, the investment arm of the Alberta government.

AHS and Dynalife are expected to have a transition plan in place by Oct. 1, 2018 and a system for working out any disagreements.

i suppose we'll all be able to revisit this in a year or two and see if cory's any more accurate with his enbridge centre effect forecast than he was with his epcor tower effect forecast...

Well there are some pretty significant differences between that situation and this one though, not the least of which being the volume of space coming on board now and the successful backfill of the vacated space due in part to a large company expansion back then...
