It's temporary after all... I doubt it'll be useful when the REM opens.

It's a temporary AMT bus terminal for South Shore buses because the one under 1000 de la Gauchetiere is over capacity. Once the REM is operational, most buses won't cross the Champlain Bridge so that terminal will probably be useless.

There will be a crossover at the tunnel on Eglinton, so if there is an issue like this in Scarborough, the entire line will not have to shut down.

Things like this remind me why I hate Scarborough, I should hate Etobicoke too, but it doesn't even take up a third of the space.

I really hope they include a few more crossovers and storage tracks on the Eglinton line. I recall Scarborough being about 50% bigger than Etobicoke with 100% more population. It definitely was not 3 plus times bigger than Etobicoke.

Whoa, that LRV in Calgary must have had a fair amount of speed to derail that far past the end of the tracks. It looks like fully 2/3rds of the train made it off. Curious as to how that would happen - I would have thought the signalling system would have automatically engaged the brakes. Which could be completely wrong!

The train got to 60 kph before it derailed.

I may be wrong, but apparently they sometimes park trains rather close together on that section of track and that regular running trains shouldn't be there anyway, and because they often park trains rather close together they didn't have some of the safety stuff there.

It has a driver, people are fallible. Does the C-train have any kind of protection signalling or is it just to prevent the trains from running into each other?
