Obviously they went with something else. WHY they went with something else should be communicated as this project evolved through a public consultation process. Are you suggesting the City Staff should not be concerned about communicating changes it makes following public consultation processes?

Those new light standards look alright. I am curious though about the real reason behind the delays

It would be 617 feet. I would guess 55 actually. Remember JW Marriott will be 56 stories at 192 M or 627 feet. So knock off one floor. Nice to have another tower height increase. It means demand for the units is definitely there.

Hope to see an improved iteration of the tower design, great to hear of height increases !

Great presentation by Chris Dulaba of Callidus/Beljan and Barb from the City of Edmonton Brownfield redevelopment grant at the NAIOP lunch today.

This is such an important program given the number of prime corner/community spots.

Unsure why CoE didn't stick with the light pole and stop light design on 108 Street.

Not that the new design isn't nice, just that it appears to leave us with those big dumbass stop lights.

They should take all the aggregate garbage bins and use them to replace the granite bollards on 108 street
Those things could take a nuclear blast, snow plows and hapless parallel parkers would be no match

I'm assuming there was issue taken with the fans on the third tusk. Maybe it had something to do with the interaction with tree canopies. Who knows.

On my way home via 101 St I crossed Jasper Ave and I still saw the old concrete bins. So I don't know where you witnessed the new ones being installed.

Oh, and just one new light pole has gone up in front of Commerce Place.

So the new streetlights look better than the original.
Let's just be happy they ditched the pure 90s design with a weird flag sticking up.
I do hope the LED "tusk" eventually gets in stalled.

and it looks like there is light on the sidewalk (or am i wrong?)... this has always puzzled me... cars have lights. pedestrians don't. but streetlights tend to light only the roadway. if we want people walking on the street/sidewalk, the sidewalks need to be lit. i'm on board for that.
