I came by the Capstan Rd. developments, and took a bunch of photos. These ones are of Polygon's Avanti project, which I don't think has its own thread. I posted the photos of Concord's development in its own thread and I posted photos of Pinnacle's development in its own thread as well.
Phase 2?
Although the photo may not convey it, the towers are quite overshadowing when standing in this spot.
They're making a new road alongside the development.
Phase 2
Interesting! They paved a new sidewalk along Cambie Road; however, there are no developments along this stretch of road yet.

Thanks for posting the pics. From the Cambie side looking into the 2 buildings, the development looks huge! It looks like the sales did really well as all 3 phases are now sold out and they built a sidewalk to block the entrance to the showroom.

They are planning to build a huge park just south of the development bordered by Cambie, Hazelbridge & Brown St. Those south units will have an unobstructed views of the park and city.
I am looking forward to them putting a sidewalk on the East side of Hazelbridge (where the park and development is). It's hard to jaywalk from Hazelbrdige st, the Yaohan side to cross to Union square mall.
New low rise courtyard building in DTNW at 218 Carnarvon called Irving Living. The property has been vacant for decades because of many stalled proposals, it also includes a small piece of land
behind the church. All other buildings on the street front on Carnarvon where it will be 4 storeys but the building will be 6 storeys fronting on Clarkson which accounts for the extreme slope.

Thanks for sharing. For being so close to SkyTrain, the streetscape there is pretty desolate. This should help significantly.
Yeah honestly i would have liked to see something in the 10-15 storey range for the site, even better would be combining with the entire adjacent property so the new structure can directly attach to the existing church to better utilize the property. My mom lives in the first block of Agnes st just NE of here and this end of downtown is quite hilly and steep, not so good for any retail etc. but there's lots of families with the new elementary school 2 blocks away and people walking everywhere. As excited as i get for any new project in New West, it's even better to see persistent vacant properties finally get some action. They have a nice river view and the top floor units would get a river and mountain view. The proposal is already 4 years old so lets hope it gets going! The buzzbuzz article was from August 16 this year.
There should be a separate thread for each city/region:

Tri-Cities Construction & Proposals (Poco, Coquitlam, Port Moody)
Langley, Abbotsford and Fraser Valley Construction & Proposals

Once again Richmond gets left out What is it about the 4th biggest municipality in the region that it consistently gets overlooked in favour of Coquitlam and Langley?

10 story buildings is usually nothing to be excited about, oh and the general drek of Richmond and its signage issues.

Interesting, not to mention transformative, urban development doesn't have a height requirement. The growth of Richmond's city centre in the past 5 years is the furthest thing from unexciting.
